Acting Assignments Sample Clauses

Acting Assignments. An acting assignment is the temporary appointment of an employee to a vacant position assigned at a higher pay grade for which a Board approved job description exists and for which the employee meets the minimum job qualifications. Employees appointed to an acting assignment may be relieved of their regular job duties and responsibilities for the duration of the appointment.
Acting Assignments. (a) An Employee, upon being assigned the duties and responsibilities of a higher rated position for a period of one (1) week or more shall be paid that rate in the salary range of the class to which they are assigned which is next higher than their present rated position. (b) In no case will the relieving Employee be paid more than the Employee being relieved.
Acting Assignments. ‌ A. Supervisors, when they are out of the office on leave or in Borough travel status, may designate in writing an Employee to assume a majority (more than ½) of the regular duties, functions, and responsibilities in a higher job classification which would normally be performed during the “acting” period.” The “acting” Employee will be furnished with a description of the responsibilities and authority to be assumed for the acting period. For acting assignments that are of at least two (2) working days in length (full day increments), the Employee shall receive a pay adjustment for the entire acting period, equal to 15% of the Employee’s current base pay, for the duration of the acting assignment. B. It is understood by the parties that an Employee is not entitled to higher classification pay merely by assuming a portion of the duties of the higher classification; the Employee must assume a majority of such duties. C. Employees may decline acting assignments.
Acting AssignmentsWhen an employee is assigned in writing by his/her Division Director to perform all of the day-to-day duties od a position in a higher District classification due to a vacancy or temporary absence of the person normally assigned to perform those duties, the employee shall receive “Acting Pay” from the first day of such assignment until the end of the assignment not less than 40 hours.
Acting AssignmentsIn those instances where it is anticipated that an acting assignment to a promotional position within the representation unit will exceed thirty (30) consecutive calendar days, appointment to acting status shall be made from the current eligible list in accordance with the provisions of Section 15.03 paragraph 2 of this Memorandum of Understanding. Such appointments shall be designated long term acting assignments and shall require approval by the City Manager or a designated representative. In the event a current eligible list does not exist for the classification involved, employees shall be advised of the vacancy and be given an opportunity to apply. The Fire Chief shall make a provisional acting appointment of an employee deemed qualified to fill the position from among those making application. When a new eligible list takes effect, the provisional appointment shall be rescind and a selection made from the list as provided above. An employee who is currently serving in long term acting status, and who has served more than thirty (30) consecutive days in said position, shall be entitled to be appointed in probationary status to the next permanent position vacancy in the classification involved. In the event more than one (1) employee is serving on a long term acting basis in the classification, the employee with the earliest appointment date shall be the one (1) selected for appointment in probationary status. Short Term acting assignments (not anticipated to exceed thirty (30) consecutive calendar days) shall not be counted for the purposes of this section. An employee who completes a long term acting assignment shall be entitled to bump another employee who is currently acting on a long term basis in the same classification, provided the effective date of appointment in long term acting status is earlier. Once an employee’s long term acting assignment has been completed and employee has served for more than thirty (30) consecutive calendar days in said assignment, employee’s name shall be placed on a re-employment list for the classification involved in the order of original date of appointment. Said re- employment list shall be of permanent duration, shall take precedence over any other eligible list for the classification, and shall be used to fill all subsequent probationary and long term acting vacancies which may arise. Acting AssignmentsThe employee with the greatest tenure in the work unit shall be deemed to be the more senior employee for purposes of acting assignments.
Acting Assignments. 29.01 An acting assignment means the assignment of an employee to substantially perform the duties of a position as required on a temporary basis. 29.02 The Employer will try to fill vacancies as quickly as possible, so that acting assignments are kept to a minimum. 29.03 An employee who is acting in a position for one (1) or more shifts in a row shall receive the salary for that position if it is higher than their current salary. An employee who accepts an acting assignment for a person excluded from the bargaining unit shall be compensated at a premium equal to fifteen per cent (15%) the employee’s base hourly rate. 29.04 An employee acting outside the bargaining unit who is fulfilling the acting assignment is entitled to all benefits of a bargaining unit member under this agreement, including overtime pay. 29.05 An employee who is acting in the position of the Employer is responsible for all the obligations of the Employer under this agreement. 29.06 For acting assignments in positions other than a Transition Home Worker, the Employer shall give other employees an equitable opportunity to act in the position if they wish. A roster of qualified available employees shall be established on a seniority basis, with each employee having the opportunity to act in the position for an equitable period.
Acting Assignments. 12.01 An employee who may be required to temporarily fill a position covered by this Agreement paying a lower wage rate shall not have her/his wage rate reduced. (a) An employee temporarily filling a position paying a higher rate of pay shall be paid the higher rate for all such hours worked. (b) Notwithstanding (a) above, when an employee has accumulated the equivalent of the qualifying period hours in the higher paid position he/she will be paid at the permanent rate for all subsequent temporary assignments in that higher paid job. (c) Such temporary assignments of one (1) week or longer will be offered on the basis of seniority to qualified employees, in the work area. An eligibility list will be created as per Article 11.02 (a) (ii).
Acting AssignmentsIt is agreed that the Acting Lists will be used to determine entitlement to acting assignments in the ranks. The successful promotion competition candidates will form the first candidates to be considered on the respective Acting Lists. All other candidates will be ranked in accordance with their time in the current rank. Employees hired before January 1, 2004 will be eligible to act without completing all the promotional requirements. Acting Lists shall be updated by the Platoon Chiefs after each promotion.
Acting Assignments. ‌ 16.12.1 Fire Fighters or Fire Engineers assigned as Acting Captains shall receive third step Fire Captain pay while so assigned. 16.12.2 Fire Fighters assigned as Acting Fire Engineers shall receive the top step of Fire Engineer pay while so assigned. 16.12.3 Fire Captains working a special non-supervisory assignment in the Fire Prevention Division shall receive the same wage and benefits as described in section 16.10.
