Awarding of Position. The appropriate Department Head shall fill a position based on qualifications, and then seniority of applicants, within classification, department, seniority group, and then other groups. An unsuccessful candidate may appeal the decision under the provisions of Article 16.
Awarding of Position. Candidates who meet the minimum job qualifications and who successfully complete all phases of the selection procedure, will be recommended to the appointing authority. The appointing authority (City Manager or his/her designee) may choose any one of the top three (3) applicants to fill the position. If more than one (1) position is open in that classification, the selection is made from the top three (3) applicants. The second and subsequent selections are made from the top three (3) applicants existing after the preceding selection is made. The top three (3) applicants are those applicants who have the highest average scores. Scores will be rounded to the nearest whole number. If two (2) or more applicants have the same average score, then the one having the greatest City seniority will be considered to have the higher score.
Awarding of Position. Bargaining unit positions, except for Team Leaders, Head Custodians, Head Mechanics, Groundskeeper and Secretaries, are to be filled by the employee with the greatest seniority in that classification who applies for the position, and has no annual evaluation ratings of 0 (zero) in the school year preceding the vacancy. In the event that no employees within the classification elect to bid on the position, this position shall be posted internally and externally. Employees are encouraged to apply for any vacancy or newly created position in the District for which they are qualified. When all other qualifications of all applicants under final consideration are relatively equal, a bargaining unit member shall be appointed to any vacancy. If the hiring decision is between two or more employee-applicants of equal qualification, the employee having the greater system seniority shall be appointed to such vacancy. Nothing herein shall be deemed to prevent the hiring of an outside candidate. Under no circumstance is the Board required to consider the application of any bargaining unit member for a position outside his or her classification who has already applied for and been awarded a position in a new classification within the contract year.
Awarding of Position. The Employer shall, within three (3) business days, of the successful applicant being notified, inform all applicants of the name of the successful applicant by posting the name of the successful applicant in the same manner in which the vacancy or new job was posted.
(a) Unless mutually agreed between the Employer and the union, regular employees who apply for temporary job postings, when they currently hold a position with the equivalent rate of pay and hours of work, will not be considered for such positions.
(b) An employee working in a temporary position shall not be eligible to apply on postings for new temporary positions, unless:
i) The anticipated start date of the new temporary position begins after the anticipated end date of the temporary position that the employee is currently working; or
ii) The new temporary position would result in a change in FTE, basic rate of pay for the employee, or the new position exceeds 60 days beyond the current position end date.
(c) A regular employee awarded a temporary position shall return to their former job and basic rate of pay without loss of seniority and accrued entitlements when the temporary position terminates.
Awarding of Position. It is agreed the outlets may have different levels of normal requirements and the company reserves the right to establish said requirements. When as part of qualifications, one of the requirements entail years of experience, the total years of service worked by the applicant within a classification within the department for which the posted position is to be filled, said number of years shall apply as experience.
Awarding of Position. The Employer shall first select qualified employee with the greatest seniority in the following order. A qualified employee is one who has the qualifications listed on the job announcement and other requirements management deems necessary.
a. Full and part-time employees within the job classification that has been posted, within the department for which the vacancy exist;
b. If there is no applicant in the above category, full and part-time employee not in the job classification but within the department for which the vacancy exists;
c. If there is no qualified applicant in the above category, full and part time employees who applied from any other department or job classification within the hospital;

Awarding of Position. Employees, submitting an application within the proper time frame and meeting the qualifications as delineated in the notice, shall be granted an interview for the promotional positions.
Awarding of Position. Currently employed Nurses who are qualified and who apply for such positions shall be given the position. If more than one currently qualified Nurse applies, seniority shall prevail.
Awarding of Position. When, in the determination of the District, applicants are substantially equal, the most qualified senior applicant shall be awarded the position. Final decision rests with the District.
