Pay and Hours of Work. 7.1 The probationary period for all Highway Patrol troopers begins on the date the trooper takes the oath of office following completion of the curriculum at the MHP Advanced Academy and continues for one full year thereafter.
7.2 Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed as a guarantee or limitation of the number of hours to be worked per day, days per week, or for any other period of time except as may be specifically provided herein.
7.3 The normal work hours and work week of troopers shall remain within the discretion of the Employer to establish. It is understood and agreed that the Employer is a 24 hour per day and seven-day per week operation and that nothing in this Agreement prohibits the rescheduling of manpower to suit the Employer’s needs and requirements of the department as they may change from time-to-time.
7.4 Pay for troopers covered by this agreement will be in accordance with Addendum A. Troopers who serve as Field Training Officers (FTO’s) will be compensated an additional $2.00 per hour in addition to their base salary for each hour that they perform assigned FTO duties. For long form truck inspections, troopers-shall receive $50 for performing at least 40 inspections in a year, and an additional $50 for performing at least 50 inspections in a year. Inspections counting toward these totals must be verified by and meet quality standards established by XXXXX. Management will review totals and issue payments due under this provision twice per year (in early June and early December). Troopers classified as Lead Crash Investigators will be compensated at an additional $1.00 per hour on their base rate of pay. When and if a Trooper is no longer classified as a Lead Crash Investigator, he or she will no longer be compensated the additional $1.00 per hour. Xxxxxxxx assigned as canine handlers will be compensated a flat fee of $510 per month for the care of his/her assigned canine during off-duty hours. If the Trooper goes on leave and kennels the canine, the Trooper will bear the cost of such kenneling out of the $510 off-duty care compensation. Any kenneling arrangement must be approved by the canine program supervisor in advance. The Highway Patrol will furnish the Trooper with all the necessary uniforms, gear, equipment, and transportation for the canine and canine handler position.

7.2 I understand that my rate of pay will be agreed upon prior to commencement of any assignment and is inclusive of casual loading and any other applicable allowances.

Pay and Hours of Work. 8.1 Warden pay progression shall be determined using the FWP Warden/Investigator Career Progression Requirements as defined in Addendum A. 8.2 All approved hours worked by employees over 80 in a pay period will be compensated at one and one-half hours for each hour worked. When overtime funds are budgeted and available, employees will receive overtime pay at the above rate. When overtime funds are exhausted, employees will receive compensatory time at one and one-half hours for each hour worked above 80 in a pay period.
8.3 When budgeted and appropriated by Legislature, employees will have the opportunity to earn up to 100 hours hours of overtime per fiscal year.
8.4 Any additional overtime funding distribution will be a negotiable item.
8.5 Employees may not exceed 120 hours of compensatory time for hours worked beyond 80 in a pay period. Employees may choose compensatory time in lieu of overtime.
8.6 If the employee has a compensatory time balance of 25 hours or less by the last pay
8.7 All holidays worked will be compensated at one and one-half hours for each hour worked, plus regular holiday pay. When overtime funds are budgeted and available, employees will receive pay for the time-and-one-half benefit for approved hours worked on the holiday. When overtime funds are exhausted, employees will receive compensatory time for the time-and-one-half benefit.
8.8 Job-related travel shall be considered as normal work time for this article.
8.9 The Department commits, based on budget availability, to move towards 100% of current available salary markets in future agreements.
8.10 Employees will receive a $0.50 per hour salary increase each year of the biennium. Wage increases will be come effective the first full pay period that includes January 1st of each year of the biennium. The Department will follow the FWP Pay Policy for incorporating statutory increases as approved by the Department of Administration.
8.11 HCBD is managing the State Employee Group Health Plan to contain costs and minimize member cost impacts. Member contributions, copay amounts, deductibles, coinsurance levels, and maximum out of pocket levels will not increase through December 31, 2020. The State’s share contribution (currently, $1,054 a month) will not change during the same period.
