Bargaining Unit Substitutes. Provisions of this Agreement solely applicable to said bargaining unit substitute employees: 26.8.1 “Day to day” substitutes are bargaining unit substitutes having worked more than thirty (30) days during any twelve month period ending during the current or preceding school year. 26.8.1.1 Day to day substitutes shall be paid at the following rates per full day worked: A. 2023-2024 $195 B. 2024-2025 $200 C. 2025-2026 $200 or .0033 times the base of BA 0,0, whichever is greater. 26.8.1.2 Day to day substitutes who are retirees of the District will be paid $20 more per day than the rate calculated in Section 26.8.1.1. 26.8.1.3 The daily rate for Professional Development Early Release days will be the full daily rate calculated in Section 26.8.1.1. 26.8.1.4 After the day to day substitute has worked ten (10) consecutive days in the same assignment, the daily rate paid the substitute shall be changed to a daily rate schedule, determined by their placement on the Certificated Salary Schedule, beginning with the eleventh (11th) day of working in the same assignment and each day thereafter in the same assignment.

Bargaining Unit Substitutes a. When a full-time bargaining unit member in a classification is absent, a part-time member in that classification shall be given the opportunity to substitute for the absent full-time employee at the part-time employee’s regular rate of pay.
Bargaining Unit Substitutes. 15.11.1 A substitute teacher’s name shall be removed from the substitute list if the teacher receives three (3) unsatisfactory performance reviews on the substitute teacher report -form within twelve (12) months of the first of the three unsatisfactory performance reviews. Upon request, the Assistant Superintendent, Personnel shall meet with the teacher and review the teacher’s performance prior to removing the substitute’s name from the substitute list. 15.11.2 A substitute will also be removed from the list for one or more of the following reasons. a) Written request from the substitute. b) Noncompliance with substitute dispatch procedures. c) Substantial noncompliance with the law, District policies, procedures or rules. 15.11.3 Two (2) unsatisfactory evaluations in a 12-month period from a site will result in exclusion from being dispatched/sent to that particular school in the future.

Substitute employees shall earn and use sick leave per RCW 49.46.210. Section 2.1‌ The Employer, on its own behalf and on behalf of the electors of the District, hereby retains and reserves unto itself, without limitation, all powers, rights, authority, duties and responsibilities conferred upon and vested in it by the provisions of this Agreement, the laws and Constitution of the State of Washington and of the United States, including, but without limiting, the generality of the foregoing rights: 1. To the executive management and administrative control of the school system and its properties and facilities of its employees. 2. To make reasonable rules and regulations. 3. To determine the qualifications of all applicants and employees. 4. To determine the duties, responsibilities and assignments of its employees. 5. To require standards of performance acceptable to the District for any individual job position. 6. To terminate employees.
