Benefits During Leaves. (i) During a Pregnancy and/or Parental Leave, an employee continues to participate in each type of benefit plan described in clause c(ii) that is related to their employment unless they elect in writing not to do so.
(ii) For the purpose of clause c(i), the types of plans are pension plans, life insurance plans, accidental death plans, extended health plans, dental plans, and any other types of benefit plans that are provided by this Agreement.
(iii) During an employee's leave(s), the Society shall continue to make its contributions for any plan described in clause c(ii) unless the employee gives the Society a written notice that the employee does not intend to pay the employee's contributions, if any.

Benefits During Leaves. Medical benefits provided to regular full-time Employees by this contract shall continue in effect during such Employee's authorized leave of absence, provided the Employee pays the premium cost of such coverage. As set forth in Article XVII(C)(3), Employees are not entitled to Short Term or Long Term Disability benefits if the disability occurs during an unpaid leave of absence. However, an Employee on unpaid leave whose return to work is prevented by a disability shall be eligible for Short Term or Long Term Disability benefits as of the date when the Employee would have otherwise returned to work, provided that all other requirements for coverage are satisfied. Employees will accrue service time for purposes of seniority rights and all benefit plans (e.g., vacation benefits, short term disability) during periods of authorized leave.
Benefits During Leaves. Medical benefits provided to regular full-time Employees by this contract shall continue in effect during such Employee's authorized leave of absence, provided the Employee pays the premium cost of such coverage. Such Employee will also accrue time for vacation benefits.
Benefits During Leaves. (a) Pregnancy and parental leaves are without pay.
(b) For those employees who are eligible for Employment Insurance benefits during such a leave, the Board ’ s Supplementary Employment Benefit plan approved by Human Resources Development Canada shall provide an amount equal to the Employment Insurance benefit for the two (2) week waiting period prior to the commencement of the employment insurance Pregnancy Leave Benefits.
(c) Except for the Long Term Disability Plan, an employee on pregnancy and/or parental leave may opt not to continue benefits during the leave period by providing written notice to the Executive Superintendent of Human Resource Services or designate, that the employee does not intend to pay his/her share of contributions.
(d) Should the employee wish to maintain his/her benefits, the Employer shall continue to pay its share of premiums for such benefits under Article 29 as the employee is currently enrolled in, for that part of the statutory seventeen (17) week Pregnancy Leave and/or that part of the statutory eighteen (18) week Parental Leave taken by the employee.
(e) An extended parental leave may be granted for an additional sixty nine (69) calendar weeks.
(f) Seniority will continue to accrue for the period of pregnancy leave, parental leave and extended parental leave up to a period of two (2) years.

Benefits During Leaves. An employee on an approved leave with pay shall retain all benefits, but must make benefit contributions as normal. An employee on an approved leave without pay may continue participation in University insurance benefit plans provided the employee makes arrangements with Human Resources and that the employee pays the employee portion of the premiums.
Benefits During Leaves. Provided the employee pays in advance the employee’s premium cost(s), the Employer will continue benefits during a leave, subject to the terms and conditions imposed by the Employer’s benefit carrier.
Benefits During Leaves. 8.3.1 A teacher who receives child rearing leave as provided in Paragraph 7.2 or extended sick leave as provided in paragraph 7.1 shall be entitled to participate in the insurance plans at the teacher's expense after commencement of the leave.
