Birthday Good Friday. Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Employees Birthday When an employee works on any of the above holidays and wishes to defer part of the compensation, he may be paid eight (8) hours at time and one-half and receive an additional eight (8) hours off at straight time pay to be taken in conjunction with his vacation in accordance with paragraph (m) of this Article. An employee whose birthday is on February 29th will celebrate their birthday on March 1st in a leap year. It shall be the responsibility of the employee to advise the Company at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the holiday that he wishes to accrue this compensatory time off.

If the needs of the University so require, the University may require that a holiday that falls on Sunday be observed on the preceding Friday and a holiday that falls on a Saturday be observed the following Monday. If a full-time employee is required to work on any of the holidays set forth in this Section 8.8, he/she shall be compensated at two times (2x) his/her regular rate of pay for all hours worked on said holiday. An employee who is scheduled to work on any holiday and does not work, unless for a reason satisfactory to the University, shall not receive holiday pay. In order to be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must work the scheduled day before and the scheduled day after the holiday unless unable to do so for a reason satisfactory to the University. In the event that an employee claims to have been unable to work his/her last scheduled day before or first scheduled day after a holiday because of illness, that employee must present a doctor's certificate to the Office of Human Resources on his/her first day back if he/she expects to be paid for the holiday. Holidays not worked but paid for will count as a day worked for the purpose of computing eligibility for overtime pay.

All holidays worked are to be paid at two times (2x) the hourly rate of the employee's base hourly wage. If an employee is scheduled to work on a holiday but does not work on that holiday, the employee shall not receive holiday pay. If a holiday occurs on an employee's scheduled unpaid day off, he or she will be compensated for the holiday at straight time. If a holiday occurs during an employee's scheduled vacation leave, it will be charged as holiday pay with the remainder of the time being charged to the vacation accrual. All recognized University holidays and/or University closings worked on the official day of the holiday and not the date observed by the University are to be paid two times (2x) an employee’s regular rate of pay for all actual hours worked.

  • Retirement Date If the Executive remains in the continuous employ of the Bank, the Executive shall retire from active employment with the Bank on the Executive’s sixty-fifth (65th) birthday, unless by action of the Board of Directors this period of active employment shall be shortened or extended.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

With County approval, compensatory time earned for working on a holiday or for a holiday falling on a regularly scheduled day off may be taken on the first scheduled working day after the holiday. B. A new employee whose first working day is the day after a holiday shall not be paid for that holiday. C. An employee who elects paid County retirement on a holiday shall be paid for the holiday. D. An employee who is terminating employment for reasons other than paid County retirement and whose last day as a paid employee is the day before a holiday shall not be paid for that holiday. E. Only regular, limited-term and probationary employees shall be eligible for holiday pay.
