Tenure-Track Appointments. (a) A tenure-track appointment is a probationary appointment that stipulates a terminal date in the letter of appointment but is tenurable under the provisions of this Article, and the conditions of Article 12 (Tenure).
Tenure-Track Appointments. Initial appointments on the tenure track shall be at least three years, and reappointments shall be at least two years, except that reappointments after the ninth year on the tenure track may be for one year.
Tenure-Track Appointments. 16.02 A tenure-track appointment is an appointment which shall lead to consideration for tenure according to the criteria and procedures specified in this Collective Agreement, unless the tenure-track appointment is not extended in accordance with this Article. A tenured appointment is a continuing appointment which shall not be terminated by the University except as provided for in this Collective Agreement.
Tenure-Track Appointments. A faculty member employed pursuant to a tenure track appointment shall serve a probationary period of seven (7) consecutive full academic years, during which time Management may terminate his employment at the end of any academic year, without recourse by the faculty member. The probationary period of a faculty member appointed to a tenure track appointment who has previously been employed by Xxxxxxxxxx College pursuant to one (1) or more term appointments, or a rolling term appointment, may be reduced by the number of continuous full academic years of such prior service; provided that the probationary period shall never be reduced by more than four (4) years. A faculty member employed pursuant to a tenure track appointment who is in the first full academic year of the probationary period shall be notified by Management of its determination to terminate the faculty member's appointment not later than March 1 of the academic year at the end of which the appointment will be terminated. A faculty member employed pursuant to a tenure track appointment who has completed more than one (1) full academic year but less than three (3) consecutive full academic years of the probationary period shall be notified by Management of its determination to terminate the faculty member's appointment not later than December 15 of the academic year at the end of which the appointment will be terminated. A faculty member employed pursuant to a tenure track appointment who has completed three (3) or more full consecutive academic years but less than seven (7) full consecutive academic years shall be notified by Management of its determination to terminate the faculty member's appointment not later than May 30 of the fiscal year preceding the academic year at the end of which the appointment will be terminated. Faculty members holding tenure track appointments shall be evaluated for the grant of tenure during the seventh (7th) academic year of the probationary period. Not later than the end of the academic year, the faculty member will be notified, in writing, that he will be granted tenure at the commencement of his eighth (8th) full consecutive academic year of employment or will be appointed to a final one (1) year term appointment, expiring at the conclusion of that academic year.
Tenure-Track Appointments. Faculty Members taking up a full-time University appointment under the terms set by Article 14.10.10 shall be given an initial Tenure-Track appointment of three (3) years to be followed, if the appointment is renewed, by a second Tenure-Track appointment of three (3) years. Appointments to the rank of Assistant Professor shall ordinarily be Tenure-Track appointments. Appointments to the rank of Associate Professor or Professor may be tenured appointments.
Tenure-Track Appointments. Tenure Track appointments consist of two phases of probationary assessment during which time the Member must demonstrate the required qualifications and performance for obtaining a Tenured Appointment. A first probationary appointment shall normally have a duration of three (3) years and is normally followed by a second probationary appointment of the same duration. Tenure-track appointments shall not be made at the rank of Lecturer.
Tenure-Track Appointments. A tenure track appointment shall be given in all cases other than those in which a visiting or adjunct appointment is deemed appropriate. A tenure track appointment is probationary until tenure is granted in accordance with the terms of this Agreement, Article 15, Probationary Period and Tenure.
Tenure-Track Appointments. All full-time tenure track Faculty members shall serve a probationary period of three consecutive years. The probationary period may be extended for one year. Written notice of the extension shall be given no later than the start of the third year of appointment. During the probationary period, the Faculty member shall be on annual contract, on a year-to- year basis. Such annual contract shall not create the expectancy of employment beyond the term of the contract nor shall non-renewal of the annual contract entitle the Faculty member to a hearing or the reasons for non-renewal. An appointment to the Faculty may be terminated during the probationary period by written notice of the administration not to reappoint or by written notice of the Faculty member not to return. Written notice to terminate the Faculty member’s contract during the probationary period shall be given by the College administration as follows:
Tenure-Track Appointments. A tenure track appointment shall be given in all cases other 15 than those in which a visiting or adjunct appointment is deemed appropriate. A tenure 16 track appointment is probationary until tenure is granted in accordance with the terms of 17 this Agreement, Article 15, Probationary Period and Tenure. 18
Tenure-Track Appointments. Where the President implements the recommendation of the Renewal, Tenure and Promotion Committee not to renew a probationary appointment, the decision shall not be subject to the grievance and arbitration procedure unless such recommendation was made in a discriminatory, arbitrary, or bad faith manner. The Member’s employment shall terminate upon being provided with the greater of six (6) months notice, or pay in lieu thereof, or that required under the Employment Standards Act, 2000. Where a Member is denied tenure, the Member’s employment shall terminate at the end of the Member’s probationary appointment. The Member may challenge the denial of tenure through the grievance and arbitration procedure.
