Charging Leave. Sick time shall be charged to the employee for the actual time the employee is away from work. Sick time will be charged in not less than a thirty (30) minute increment for time less than one

1. Annual leave time shall be scheduled and charged to the employee for the achial time the employee is away from work.
2. Annual leave will be charged in one (1) hour minimum increments.
3. Annual leave shall not be charged during City recognized holidays.
4. For purposes of determining overtime, authorized annual leave hours shall be construed as time worked.
5. After completion of six (6) months continuous service, the employee shall be eligible to use accrued leave.

Charging Leave. Sick leave taken shall be recorded, charged and paid in one-half (½) hour increments unless it is FMLA time as well. Then, the smallest increment chargeable will be used. Paid holidays which occur during a paid sick leave shall not be chargeable to sick leave.

(B) Annual leave will be charged in one hour increments, except for shift workers and Troubleman. For these employees, annual leave will be charged in one half (1/2) day minimum increments. The minimum leave requirement for shift workers and Troubleman may be waived on an occasional basis, at the discretion of the appropriate Division Manager. (See §11.03(A), below).
(C) In circumstances where a supervisor plans to deny a vacation request, the supervisor shall contact the applicable Director prior to denying the request to discuss the reason(s) for the vacation denial. If the applicable Director determines that the reason(s) given do not justify the vacation denial, the employee shall be advised of the applicable Director’s decision by the supervisor and the employee shall be entitled to take the requested vacation.
(D) Holidays which occur during the period selected by the employee for annual leave shall not be charged against such annual leave. However, the holiday will be charged against holiday leave regularly due the employee.
Charging Leave a. Vacation leave is accrued monthly for full-time employees from the date of employment.
b. Full-time employees may not use any accrued vacation leave until the completion of six (6) months of employment with the Town, unless approved in advance by the Town Manager.
c. Employees shall use all accrued vacation hours in excess of three hundred (300) hours by the end of each respective calendar year. Excess accrued vacation leave above that amount will be forfeited unless, due to operational necessity, the Town prevents an employee from taking vacation leave and the employee is unable to reschedule before the end of that calendar year. If this is the case, the unused vacation must be used by the end of the first quarter of the new calendar year or be forfeited, unless approval is obtained by the Town Manager in writing for roll-over. Employees should review their pay stub to ensure accrual balance are correct.
d. Vacation leave shall not accrue or be earned by an employee while on leave without pay.
e. Vacation leave shall not be counted as hours worked for the computation of overtime in any work week.
f. Department Heads will arrange vacation leave schedules and reassign remaining duties on such a basis as to cause minimum interference with the normal functions and operations of the organization. Department Heads shall have discretion to determine their respective department's vacation schedule and the system by which their respective employees are assigned vacation Leave.
g. Employees should provide the employer reasonable notice, preferably 2 weeks prior to vacation leave.
Charging Leave. A. PTO shall be charged in one half (1/2) hour minimum increments.
B. Holidays which occur during the period selected by the employee for PTO shall not be charged against PTO.
C. For purposes of determining overtime payments, authorized PTO hours shall not be counted as time worked.
