Christmas/New Year Period. Employees will not be required to work between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day inclusive. Employees shall be remunerated by the employer for these 4 days.

Christmas/New Year Period. The Employer shall endeavour to give each Employee either Christmas or New Year's Day off. This shall be done on an alternate basis, that is, Christmas Day off one year and New Year's Day off the next year. Employees may request to shift exchange Christmas Day and New Year's Day shifts and such requests shall not be unreasonably refused. Any such shift exchange shall not result in an increased cost to the Employer. The master time schedule shall be waived during the period December 15 to January 15. Adequate staffing must be maintained at all times. Subject to the efficient operational requirements of the home, the Employer will endeavour to provide Full-Time Employees with five (5) consecutive days off for Christmas or New Years and Part-Time Employees with three (3) consecutive days off for Christmas or New Years.
Christmas/New Year Period. 46.2.1 If Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, a holiday in lieu thereof shall be observed on 27 December.
Christmas/New Year Period. Employees who fail to qualify under (d)(i) or (ii) above for Holiday Pay for the Christmas-New Year Holiday period only by reason of failure to work one (1) of their two (2) qualifying work days, shall be paid eight (8) hours Holiday Pay for all but two (2) of the Paid Holidays during the Christmas-New Year Holiday Period. Such failure to work one (1) of the two (2) qualifying work days, where extenuating circumstances prevail, will be reviewed in a positive manner. Employees whose Jury Duty, Maternity. Parental and/or Adoption leaves, or Disability leaves for which Sickness and Accident or Workplace Safety and Insurance Board benefits were payable, terminate during the Christmas-New Year Holiday period, and who report for work on the regular scheduled work day immediately following the Christmas-New Year Holiday period, will be eligible for Holiday Pay beginning with the first holiday the employee would otherwise have worked and each holiday thereafter in the said period.
Christmas/New Year Period. WCS is closed in the period between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Stand down leave on full pay is granted to all employees for their standard working days in this period not deemed to be public holidays.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling Within Vacation Schedule If a paid holiday falls on or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be allowed an additional vacation day with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and employee.
