Conferences and Visitations. Upon having received ten (10) working days prior written notification, except in emergency situations, the Superintendent may authorize professional leave for attendance of personnel at state, regional and national meetings without pay deduction. The number of absences allowable is a judgment value on the part of the Superintendent and is subject to budget limitations for employing substitutes and reimbursement for travel, meals and lodging.

Conferences and Visitations. Applications may be made by Administrators for leave to attend conferences and to make school visitations, provided however, the Board in its sole discretion may determine whether to grant or deny such application. Further, the Board may, in its discretion, determine the degree to which, if at all, it shall reimburse expenses incurred in regard to such leave. The denial of such application shall not constitute a basis for grievance, nor shall the granting of such application constitute precedent to be applied in any future case. A representative of the Association shall meet with the Superintendent of Schools, or his/her designee, to mutually establish the conferences and visitation schedule for administrators for the entire year. This schedule shall be presented for informational purposes to the Board of Education.
Conferences and Visitations. The professional responsibility of the administrator to attend educational conferences and make visitations to other schools shall be recognized by the Board of Education. Conference requests and visitation requests shall be forwarded to the Superintendent and the Board respectively for approval.
Conferences and Visitations. 1. The District shall pay all approved costs for a unit member's attendance at a professional conference or school visitation when such attendance is at the request of the District. 2. A unit member may file a written request for authorization to attend a professional conference or school visitation and be granted approval for attendance subject to the following terms and conditions: a. The written request form must be filed with and recommended by building principal(s) at least ten days prior to the date of the conference or visitation. If the request is not recommended, the employee may appeal the building principal's decision to the Superintendent. b. If the attendance of the unit member is adjudged by the Superintendent to be of demonstrable benefit to the school district, the attendance may be authorized and the District will pay up to $290 for approved conference expenses and up to $140 for approved travel expenses exclusive of lodging throughout the term of this Agreement. c. If the attendance of the unit member is adjudged by the Superintendent of Schools to be of insignificant benefit to the School District, attendance may be authorized without any reimbursement of the expenses. d. The District agrees to appropriate the sum of at least $5,000 to implement the terms of Section b. above. 3. Absence of a unit member from his regular assignment pursuant to Sections 1 and 2 above shall be considered school business leave and shall be without salary deduction. 4. A unit member authorized to attend a professional conference or school visitation may be required to file a written report on the conference or visitation with the Superintendent of Schools. 5. Reimbursement to a unit member for approved expenses pursuant to Sections 1 and 2 above shall be made after the unit member has filed a properly substantiated claim for same.
Conferences and Visitations. Staff members may be requested by the District's Administration to attend activities which promote professional growth. Staff members may also request to attend such meetings. Staff members may be required by District Administration to attend activities which may promote professional growth if held within the regular school day. After application to and with the approval of the Superintendent staff members may be released during the school day with full pay to attend conventions, professional meetings, workshops, and to visit exemplary programs. A staff member who voluntarily attends an administratively approved professional growth activity at a time other than the regular school day may also request reimbursement for expense. Mileage and registration fees for approved activities shall be reimbursed by the District. Room and board expenses shall be reimbursed by the District if overnight accommodations are necessary. Meals will be reimbursed upon presentation of a voucher or receipt for the same at up to $40/day, when meals are not provided. If employee claims more than one (1) meal, they will be reimbursed the total allowance, given that the receipts equal or exceed allotted amount.
Conferences and Visitations. The Business Administrator is encouraged to attend conferences and visit other schools. Requests for such conference days should be made to the Superintendent and must have his/her approval.
Conferences and Visitations. 10.14.1 The Board of Education will provide for attendance of certificated employees at conferences and workshops which will benefit the District and which will contribute to the professional growth and competency of the employee. The Superintendent may authorize leaves for conferences and workshops to be held within the state. Such leaves may be with or without loss of salary, and/or with or without reimbursement of necessary expenses by the District. This may include officers and duly appointed delegates of professional associations. Determination as to the payment of salary and/or expenses will be made at the time the leave is granted. 10.14.2 The Superintendent, at his discretion, may grant permission for an employee to be absent without loss of pay for the purpose of visitation.
