Continuing Education Unit. Credits 1. The practice of awarding staff members Continuing Education Unit Credits for Board of Education approved in-service workshops/programs will be awarded in accordance with the following procedures and guidelines. a. Fifteen (15) workshop hours will be required for each earned one (1) Continuing Education Unit Credit. b. CEU Credits will be applied toward lateral movement on the salary guide for all job categories. c. CEU credits will be offered not less than bi-annually in the fields of instructional improvement, technology and professional development.

Continuing Education Unit. All C.E.U.s will be recorded in the Employee's personnel file. When the accumulated number of C.E.U.s reaches seven (7), the Employee shall receive an annual One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) stipend, payable each year on the last pay in June. The annual stipend will not exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) in any one year.

Continuous or uninterrupted employment /service A period of time beginning with the date a teacher is formally hired by the District and ending with the date a teacher’s employment with the District is formally terminated, including (1) periods between these two dates during which the teacher is not covered by this Agreement but continues to be otherwise employed by the District , and (2) periods during which the teacher’s employment was temporarily terminated , with the teacher subsequently being rehired under the layoff and recall provisions of this Agreement. A period of continuous or uninterrupted service may include periods of both active and inactive service. Day or Days Any day(s) when school is in session or that is designated as an in-service or other non-teaching work day. For purposes of processing a grievance filed on or after June 1st , “day(s)” shall mean weekdays (Monday through Friday), so that the matter may be resolved before the end of the school year or as soon thereafter as possible. Department Head (applies to LUMS, LUHS, GMTCC only) A LUMS, LUHS, GMTCC teacher with specific administrative duties, including supportive evaluation, budgets and schedules. District or School District The corporate entity that employs a teacher, including the LNSU, if applicable. Domestic Partner A person, male or female, at least 21 years old, and not related by birth, civil union, or marriage to the teacher, with whom the teacher lives and shares an exclusive domestic relationship including joint financial obligations. Evening Event or Activity A school-sponsored event or activity occurring after 4:00 pm that teachers are required to attend by the Principal or Superintendent, such as open house, student concerts, school dances, and the like. At LUMS, LUHS, GMTCC only, parent conferences are included, if occurring after 4:00 p.m. (See Article V)
Continuing Education Unit tuition reimbursement shall be utilized for registered nurse license renewal requirements, and/or job related education, provided such CEU education enhances County and/or personal continuing educational goals. Continuing Education Unit tuition costs will be reimbursed only if: (a) the CEU course is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN); and (b) the department has made prior approval of this course. Continuing Education Unit tuition reimbursement shall not exceed twenty dollars ($20.00) per contact hour unless the appointing authority has approved reimbursement which exceeds twenty dollars ($20.00) per contact hour. Requests for reimbursement must be approved in advance by the appointing authority and shall not be paid in increments less than ten dollars ($10.00) per fiscal year. Employee initiated education or career development shall not be considered as time actually worked for purposes of computing overtime and normally shall not occur during regular work hours except that which has the prior approval of the appointing authority. No Unit member shall receive tuition reimbursement in excess of the limitation determined by the Internal Revenue Service. Eligibility for reimbursement is contingent upon an approved course or seminar, completed with, where applicable, a grade of “C” or better or “pass” when taken on a pass/fail basis, except in extenuating circumstances where such a situation as verifiable illness prevents an individual from completing a course.
Continuing Education Unit. (CEU) credit may be granted through the Xxxxxx LPDC toward certificate/license renewals for courses offered through this program, provided that the appropriate forms are completed and submitted to the WLPDC.

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • Special Education Teachers Elementary/Secondary Special Education Coordinators shall be compensated for an extended work day in the amount of four thousand dollars ($4,000).

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • General Education University Program Requirements All MTA applicable courses require a grade “C” or higher

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Said Paid Education Leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the Dependent Contractor’s skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, Unifor and sent by the Company to the following address: Unifor Education Leave Program c/o Unifor 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, XX X0X 0X0 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay for twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary, with said Leave of Absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Dependent Contractors on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.

  • Higher education expenses Payments taken for certain qualified higher education expenses for you, your spouse, or the children or grandchildren of you or your spouse, will not be subject to the 10 percent early distribution penalty tax.

  • Resident Educator A Resident Educator is a teacher employed under a resident educator license.

  • General Education Requirements Students who intend to transfer to SUNY Buffalo State College with an A.A. or A.S. degree, will be considered as having fulfilled general education/Intellectual Foundations as long as they complete the 30 credits and 7 of 10 areas of SUNY-GER requirements prior to the start of their studies at SUNY Buffalo State College. Students should have successfully completed the SUNY-GER Basic Communication requirement with a grade of “C” or better, the mathematics requirement, and 5 of the remaining 8 categories. The student is responsible for fulfilling the SUNY Buffalo State College Diversity requirement.
