Defence Force Reservists Leave. Employees who have responsibilities under their role with the Defence Force Reserves are recognised and supported by the City of Xxxxxxx Xxxxx. Where the Defence Force approves reimbursement to the City Of Xxxxxxx Xxxxx for employees who are undertaking required training or responsibilities in their roles within the Defence Force reserves, the City of Xxxxxxx Xxxxx will pay the employee the reimbursement sum paid by the Defence Force to the City of Xxxxxxx Xxxxx.

Defence Force Reservists Leave. Where an employee is a member of the Defence Force Reserves and is required to absent themselves from work for the purpose of attending duties related to such membership, such employee shall be entitled to leave from duties, as follows:
Defence Force Reservists Leave. Employees who have responsibilities under their role with the Defence Force Reserves are recognised and supported by Council. Where the Defence Force approves reimbursement to Council for employees who are undertaking required training or responsibilities in their roles within the Defence Force Reserves, Council will pay the employee either their normal rate of pay or the Defence Force Rate of pay, whichever is the highest for the period of Defence Force Reservist Leave. Employees will be eligible to apply for up to 4 weeks of Defence Force Reservist Leave per year.

  • JURY SERVICE AND WITNESS LEAVE 17.1 Employees called on for jury service or who are subpoenaed, or as a witness for the Crown, the employer, or in the course of their employment, are required to serve. Where the need is urgent, the employer may apply for postponement because of particular work needs, but this may be done only in exceptional circumstances.

  • Unpaid Personal Leave of Absence 1. Any employee may apply for an unpaid personal leave of absence for good and sufficient reason. Leave pursuant to this provision may be for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months in any fourteen (14) consecutive months. Such leave may be granted at the discretion of the appointing authority and shall not be unreasonably denied. Employees are encouraged to consult with their agency/department Personnel Officer to determine if they are eligible for benefits available under the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act. All requests for such leave and responses shall be in writing. The application for leave must specifically state the reasons for such application and the length of time requested. After completion of a period of personal leave of absence, the employee shall be entitled to return to the organizational unit, status and position held immediately prior to the beginning of the leave of absence. If the employee's position is abolished during any such leave, he/she shall be notified and allowed to exercise his/her rights under the Seniority Article of this Agreement.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave a) Personal/carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS). Casual employees shall have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave.

  • Payment of Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave (a) If an employee takes a period of paid personal/xxxxx’s leave and meets the notice requirements set out at Clause 44.3 the employer must pay the employee at the employee’s base rate of pay for the employee’s ordinary hours of work in the period.

  • Unused Personal Leave Since a number for the available personal leave days has been established, a basic discussion will need to be had regarding unused personal leave days. Naturally, these differ from vacation days since the Employer will not always be required to pay the Employee when personal leave is taken. If a dollar amount will be attached to each personal leave day that is unused so that it can be paid to that Employee then, select the first checkbox presented in the list of options provided and record the dollar amount that shall be paid for one unused personal day.   • Personal Leave of Absence The Administrator may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that he receives at least one (1) month's clear notice, in writing, unless impossible, and provided that such leave may be arranged without undue inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home. Employees when applying for such leave shall indicate the proposed date of departure and return. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Leave of Absence for College Committees An employee whose assigned work schedule would prevent her/him from attending meetings of a college committee to which s/he has been elected or appointed, will be granted a leave of absence from her/his regular duties without loss of pay or other entitlements to attend such meeting(s). Where such leave is granted, the employer will replace the employee as necessary. Costs arising from this provision will not be charged against the program area of the participating employee.
