Definition of Experience. Experience is interpreted as full-time certificated teaching experience in a publicly supported elementary or secondary school in Ontario or its equivalent, i.e. experience on a certificate for which the Department of Education or Ministry of Education has issued either a Certificate or a Letter of Standing. Where a teacher's experience cannot be readily classified, the number of years shall be determined by the Director of Education but shall not exceed the maximum.

For new hires, experience shall be defined as the years in which a teacher worked 120 days or more in an accredited preK-12 or K-12 Indiana public or private school or a public school in another state or territory which has reciprocity with the Indiana Teachers Retirement Fund.
