DURATION AND SIGNATORY PROVISION. This Agreement shall remain in full force and effect from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020. Either party may, upon written notice, no later than sixty (60) days before the date of expiration, give notice of its intent to negotiate a successor Agreement. Re-openers each year shall be any legislative or administrative rules which impact wages, hours, and working conditions; two specific items of compensation and benefits; calendar; and two other items from either side. Upon mutual consent of both parties, this Agreement may be modified at any time.

B. For 2011-12, each party will have two re-openers. For 2012-13 each party will have two re- openers. School Calendar shall be negotiable each year. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Parties further agree that for September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2014 only, re-openers shall not be allowed for the duration of this contract. It is understood that legislative impact and the evaluation model /pilot will be bargained in accordance with E2SSB 6696, and not considered as openers for either party. C. The Parties further agree at the option of each party, written bargaining proposals may be submitted to each other no later than May 1, 2014. This date may be extended by mutual agreement. . DURATION AND SIGNATORY PROVISION. This Agreement is made and entered into between Spokane Public Schools of Spokane, Washington, the Employer, and the SPOKANE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION. This Agreement shall be in full force and effect beginning with the ratification by both parties and shall remain in full force and effect through August 31, 2022. At any time that rules, regulations, and/or law is changed during the duration of this Agreement, this Agreement shall be reopened for the express purpose of negotiating the affected sections. A. Family and Medical leave:
1. An eligible employee is entitled to a total of twelve (12) workweeks of family and medical leave during any fiscal year (September 1 - August 31). A regular employee shall first become eligible for family and medical leave following the adjusted anniversary of their date of hire. Employees other than regular employees shall be eligible, according to the eligibility provisions established in the family and medical leave act.
2. An eligible employee is entitled to family medical leave for:
a. the birth of a child and to care for such child.
b. the placement of a child with the employee for adoption or xxxxxx care that requires State action.
c. caring for the employee’s seriously ill spouse, parent, child under eighteen (18) years of age or a child over age 18 who is “incapable” of self-care because of a mental or physical disability.
d. a “serious health condition” that makes the employee unable to perform their job functions.

The parties agree that there will be no strike by the Association or lockout by the District for the duration of this Contract. The Xxxxx-Xxxxxx Extra-Curricular Association and the Xxxxx-Xxxxxx School District hereby pledge to work together to trim levy-funded costs should the District experience a double levy failure. To that end, either party may request that the Contract be reopened for negotiations. The parties further agree to meet together for the sole purpose of dealing with the economic impact of the double levy failure.
