EMPLOYEE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. The Board and the Union agree that employee growth and development should be encouraged and supported. REQUIRED COURSE WORK (Employer Initiated) It is agreed that the employer may require an employee to attend course work or training programs to perform work better. (a) For required training and course work the employer will pay for the course or program registration fees, required textbooks and materials, and required laboratory fees. (b) For required training and course work the employer will assist with travel expenses as per the School District travel policy No. 4133. 1. The employer will pre-pay transportation and accommodation expenses. The employee may request through the immediate supervisor an advance on per diem expenses as per travel policy No. 4133.1 dated May 21, 1996. (c) It is recognized that required course work or training occurs both on regular work hours and outside of regular work hours. (d) For course work or training occurring outside an employee's regularly scheduled work hours, attendance will be voluntary. (e) With the prior approval of the supervisor, attendance at courses outside of the employee's regularly scheduled work hours will be compensated either: (i) at the employee's regular rate of pay for the course hours attended; (ii) or the employee will be given equivalent time off for the course hours attended. VOLUNTARY COURSE WORK OR TRAINING (Employee Initiated) Regular employees shall be eligible for some training or course work reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement will be 50% of the cost of the approved course provided that: (a) The courses or training are accepted by the Property Maintenance Manager, in consultation with the Secretary-Treasurer, as properly relating to the employee's current responsibilities or are determined to be specific skills necessary for meeting future district staffing needs. (b) The course or training is approved in advance, in writing, by the Property Maintenance Manager. (c) Proof of successful course completion is presented to the Property Maintenance Manager within one month following notification from the instructor or the educational or training institution, prior to reimbursement by the Board to the employee, and (d) The employee is actively at work. In cases where the employee is not actively at work (i.e., on a leave of absence), reimbursement will be payable when the employee returns to active duty. EMPLOYEE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. ‌ C4.1 When employees are enrolled in training outside Efficiency Manitoba, they may be allowed to make suitable arrangements with their responsible Leader to work hours outside the regular workday to permit their attendance at daily lectures and/or laboratory periods at an institute of learning for up to a maximum of three hours per week, plus travelling time. Total time off during any workday shall not exceed three hours plus travelling time and will only be granted for those courses not available outside regular working hours. These provisions will be subject to the workload conditions and operational needs. C4.2 Where employees request and receive approval to attend a conference or seminar, all or part of which is outside of normal working hours, they shall receive straight pay for normal hours of work only. There will be no additional pay for extra hours of attendance or travel. They will be reimbursed for registration, and where required, travel and accommodation costs following Article H1. C4.3 Where employees are required, as part of their job, to attend mandatory training including conferences or seminars, all or part of which is outside of regular working hours, they shall receive pay at the applicable overtime rates for travel on the first and last day of the assignment. Employees who choose to commute home daily or on weekends are not eligible for compensation or travel time for the additional commute time. C4.3.1 Mandatory training is defined as: a) training required and directed by Efficiency Manitoba, or b) necessary for employees to perform the duties of their current job, or c) normally the result of technological, regulatory, organizational, or policy changes.

  • Research and Development (i) Advice and assistance in relation to research and development of Party B; (ii) Advice and assistance in strategic planning; and

  • Training and Development 3.1 Authorities will develop local 'Workforce Development Plans (see Part 4.8),' closely linked to their service delivery plans, which will provide the focus for the establishment of training and development priorities. Training and development should be designed to meet the corporate and service needs of authorities both current and in the future, taking into account the individual needs of employees. Local schemes on training and development should enable authorities to attain their strategic objectives through development of their employees. Training and development provisions should be shaped to local requirements and take account of the full range of learning methods. Such an approach should enable access to learning for all employees. The needs of part time employees and shift workers need particular consideration. 3.2 Employees attending or undertaking required training are entitled to payment of normal earnings; all prescribed fees and other relevant expenses arising. Employees are also entitled to paid leave for the purpose of sitting for required examinations. When attending training courses outside contracted daily hours, part-time employees should be paid on the same basis as full- time employees. (Assistance for other forms of learning, for example that directed at individual development, will be locally determined). Some training can be very expensive and authorities may require repayment of all or part of the costs incurred should an employee leave the authority before a reasonable time period has expired. The authority's policy in this regard should be made explicit. 3.3 Objectives for training and development programmes should include the following: • To enable Councils to attain their strategic objectives via investment in their employees. • To promote equity of access to learning. • To encourage employees to develop their skills and level of responsibility to the maximum of their individual potential. • To widen and modernise the skills profile of employees to maximise their versatility, employability and so, job security. • To enable employees to raise productivity, quality and customer service in pursuit of sustainable improvement 3.4 Authorities should establish local partnership arrangements, to include recognised trade unions, to develop their local workforce development plans. 3.5 The NJC endorses partnership provision such as the "Return to Learn" scheme. Authorities and the recognised trade unions shall encourage and support employees taking on the statutory Union Learning Representative (ULR) role. This will include agreeing facilities and paid release in accordance with statutory provisions. ULRs should be enabled to play a full part in promoting and implementing local training and development programmes.

  • Job Development ‌ a. Does the district conduct or access job development services to expand job opportunities for TA and SNAP participants? Yes No If Yes, select how the district participates in job development activities. District staff contacts employers to solicit jobs for TA and SNAP Participants. Describe below how this is done, including number of staff, frequency of contacts, etc. Self Sufficiency Supervisory Staff members promote the hiring of Temporary Assistance clients through the use of the Transitional Employment Advancement Program (TEAP). MCDSS offers periodic job interviews with 60 - 75 TA recipients (concentrating on the Safety Net Singles) to fill vacant positions with companies who may participate with TEAP or OJT. Daily, job openings are received from area employers and reviewed by the Self Sufficiency staff for possible applicant matching. All jobs are posted in our waiting rooms, handed out at our front windows, given during recertification interviews or employment assessments for clients and applicants to review and submit applications to. To find additional employers, intranet searches of employment web sites, phone calls, cold calls, and mailings are made to employers in the area to explain the TEAP and OJT contracts along with information about Tax Incentives. Self Sufficiency staff also attend Job Fairs, as they arise to speak with employers and discuss the benefits of hiring a client currently on Public Assistance. Individuals that are eligible for TEAP or OJT are also given a TEAP brochure and OJT literature to use to advise potential employers that they are eligible for TEAP or OJT if they are hired. The Employment Coordinator receives notifications of job postings from various Monroe County vendors, we then try to match clients with these positions. MCDSS screens recipients for job skills matching current openings at an employer. MCDSS then schedules recipients to come to office and have a job interview here in the building. We assist with online application filing and interview preparation before the interview is conducted with the employer. MCDSS receives notifications of community job fairs and advises employable individuals to attend. MCDSS is able to have a sign in table at these events and are able to mentor individuals and offer support during the fair. District contracts or has an agreement with another agency to contact employers and solicit jobs for TA and/or SNAP participants. Describe below how this is done, including number of staff, frequency of contacts, etc. RochesterWorks, Inc. - There are 3 full-time staff dedicated to employer outreach on the RochesterWorks Business Services team. Outreach is done on a daily basis in a variety of ways such as through daily job posts on behalf of business, presentations to business/industry associations and groups like the local Xxxxxxxx of Commerce, Pro-ROC (Professional Recruiters of Rochester) and other networks; one-on-one meetings at employers’ worksites, virtually, over the phone or via email; virtual and in-person recruitment events; and monthly business newsletters. RochesterWorks also engages employers referred by our local county Economic Development Department as well as the Department of Labor, to promote and connect job seekers with hiring companies. In addition to free job posting, recruitment events, and promotion, RochesterWorks offers work-based training grants in the form of On-the-Job Training (partial wage subsidy) and Transitional Jobs (fully subsidized). Career Systems currently refers Job Seekers from a number of programs to area job fairs. They will continue this and consider a referral to a job fair to be equivalent to a referral to potential employment; it will be a condition of continued eligibility for the program. They will facilitate, monitor and report this attendance and participation. Career Systems will also develop relationships with hiring agencies that will allow groups of participants to be interviews at the job site. Career Systems staff will facilitate, monitor and report attendance at these functions.

  • Career Development The City and the Union agree that employee career growth can be beneficial to both the City and the affected employee. As such, consistent with training needs identified by the City and the financial resources appropriated therefore by the City, the City shall provide educational and training opportunities for employee career growth. Each employee shall be responsible for utilizing those training and educational opportunities made available by the City or other institutions for the self- development effort needed to achieve personal career goals.

  • Staff Development ‌ The County and the Association agree that the County retains full authority to determine training needs, resources that can be made available, and the method of payment for training authorized by the County. Nothing in this subsection shall preclude the right of an employee to request specific training.

  • Staff Development Leave (a) An employee will be granted leave without loss of pay, at their basic rate of pay, to take courses (including related examinations) or attend conferences, conventions, seminars, workshops, symposiums or similar out-of-service programs, at the request of the Employer. The amount of pay received by an employee will not exceed the full-time daily hours of work as outlined in Clause 14.2 (Hours of Work). When such leave is granted, the Employer will bear the full cost, including tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees, and course-related books. The Employer will also reimburse the employee for approved travelling, subsistence, and other legitimate, applicable expenses. (b) An employee may be granted leave without pay, with pay, or leave with partial pay, to take work related courses in which the employee wishes to enrol to acquire the skills necessary to enhance opportunities. (c) Approval of requests will be given reasonable consideration and leaves pursuant to this article will be administered in a reasonable manner. (d) Should the employee noted above terminate their employment for any reason during the six month period following completion of the above-noted leave, the employee will reimburse the Employer for all expenses incurred by the Employer (i.e. tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees, and course-required books) on a proportionate basis.

  • Proprietary Information and Developments 9.1 The Consultant will not at any time, whether during or after the termination of this Agreement for any reason, reveal to any person or entity any of the trade secrets or confidential information concerning the organization, business or finances of the Company or of any third party which the Company is under an obligation to keep confidential, except as may be required in the ordinary course of performing the Consultant Services to the Company, and the Consultant shall keep secret such trade secrets and confidential information and shall not use or attempt to use any such secrets or information in any manner which is designed to injure or cause loss to the Company. Trade secrets or confidential information shall include, but not be limited to, the Company's financial statements and projections, expansion proposals, property acquisition opportunities and business relationships with banks, lenders and other parties not otherwise publicly available.

  • Employee Development The Employer may provide employees the opportunity to participate in appropriate seminars, workshops or short courses. When possible and appropriate the Employer will provide to all staff information on seminars, workshops or short courses by posting a notice on the Employer’s internal web site.

  • Joint Development If joint development is involved, the Recipient agrees to follow the latest edition of FTA Circular 7050.1, “Federal Transit Administration Guidance on Joint Development.”

  • Creation and Development Fee If the Prospectus related to a Trust specifies a creation and development fee, the Trustee shall, on or immediately after the end of the initial offering period, withdraw from the Capital Account, an amount equal to the unpaid creation and development fee as of such date and credit such amount to a special non-Trust account designated by the Depositor out of which the creation and development fee will be distributed to the Depositor (the "Creation and Development Account"). The creation and development fee is the per unit amount specified in the Prospectus for the Trust. (16) Article III is hereby amended by adding the following section:
