Employee Safety and Health. The Systems shall contain provisions that promote workplace safety compliance with applicable law and regulations.
Employee Safety and Health. Teachers will not be required to perform any duty or act outside their normal responsibilities which threatens the teacher's or student's physical safety or wellbeing.
Employee Safety and Health. UNM of New Mexico believes that the safety and health of its employees are prime considerations in every phase of its activities. UNM is concerned for the human value of life, health, and physical well-being, and it is convinced that good safety and health practices are essential to efficient services to the public. It is UNM’s intent to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions for its employees. In order to ensure this, UNM will:
1. Instill in its employees an awareness of the need to promote safety and healthy working habits and attitudes on a continuous basis.
2. Make recommendations to the Safety Committee for safety equipment and procedures.

Employee Safety and Health. 26.1 The Company shall make reasonable provisions for the safety and health of its employees at its site during the hours of their employment. Any unsafe condition should be reported immediately to the shift supervisor.
26.2 Employees covered by this Agreement shall be required to comply with all safety rules and regulations established by the Company and to wear protective clothing or use safety equipment as may be required by the Company. Each new or transferred employee shall receive a general and a job safety orientation before beginning work in the job classification.
26.3 Protective clothing and safety equipment furnished by the Company remains the property of the Company, and each employee shall be responsible for proper use thereof.
26.4 The company agrees to reimburse each employee who is required to wear safety shoes up to $100.00 annually for the purchase of approved safety shoes. In any position in which the Company requires two (2) sets of safety shoes, the Company will reimburse the employee for both sets of shoes.
26.5 Alleged violations of Subparagraph 26.1 of this Article shall be not reviewable through the arbitration provisions of this agreement.

If an on-the-job injury or accident occurs, the procedure is for the employee to contact his/her immediate supervisor and/or xxxxxxx as soon as possible for necessary information. All employees of the Bremerton School District are entitled to coverage under the District's worker’s compensation plan, in conformance with state law, provided the criteria for such are met. Such compensation may include wages, ambulance costs, medical, dental, eyeglasses, therapy, etc.
2. The District shall provide the appropriate vaccine series to all employees identified as having risk of directly contacting blood or other potentially infectious material at work. Each year, the District and the Union shall review and amend, if needed, the list of positions considered to have this risk.
3. The employer will provide a safe and healthy workplace consistent with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.

26.4 Effective November 10, 2012, The company agrees to reimburse each employee who is required to wear safety shoes up to $100.00 annually for the purchase of approved safety shoes. In any position in which the Company requires two (2) sets of safety shoes, the Company will reimburse the employee for both sets of shoes. Effective May 18, 2016, the Company will provide a vendor to come onsite for shoe purchases. Employees will be required to utilize the vendor and will be credited with the allowance above. That portion will be billed to the Company and the employee will be responsible for any amounts in excess of the allowance. Effective May 18, 2016, the Company will reimburse each employee required to wear prescription safety glasses up to $100.00 annually. If there is a significant change in an employee’s prescription verified by a physician, the employee may request an advance purchase of glasses.

If there is a significant change in an employee’s prescription verified by a physician, the employee may request an advance purchase of glasses. Safety shoes and glasses will meet ANSI standards.
