Results indicated that students and staff gained skills in various art forms as well as areas of higher-order thinking.

It will help develop the whole child by providing hands-on experiences with a professional artist that will encourage higher-order thinking and creative expression. For some students, this experience seeing a local artist as an entrepreneur may inspire them to pursue their own business. The artists will speak about their identities and encourage students to celebrate their own identity; this supports a commitment to equity and culturally relevant pedagogy. It also shows representation to students of color by seeing someone who may look like them and is successful in their career.

The providers will address the mental health challenges that these non-traditional students present with. These challenges may be long standing and related to why they were unsuccessful in their initial attempt at securing their educational goals. Another group of students often neglected in this context are English language learners. These students who are migrating from a number of places often present with different and challenging circumstances that could undermine their success. The services offered will help to address and situational and contextual barriers that may negatively impact their academic goals. Services and professional development trainings are often offered to students and faculty at New Haven Adult Education. These professional development offerings increase the skills and learning professional, para-professional staff, and students in the mental health related topics. A needs survey will be administered to assess the specific events that the students experienced that may be undermining their academic success. Results from this survey will be used to develop training modules for the faculty and staff of New Haven Adult Education with the goal of this training positively impacting the academic instruction and interface with the students.

As discussed in the specific skills set section of this memo, effectiveness of the services is evidenced by the positive involvement of the students in the services offered. Students offered clinical services often present for these services and report relief from the distress they were experiencing, evidence by their subsequent return for services. In addition, students continue through the programs offered at New Haven Adult Education and graduate. Faculty will also report greater ability to address these challenges and manage them as they present in their classrooms resulting in student reported greater academic connection, classroom management, and fewer discipline referrals.

The trainer services’ is essential to this goal because, our students-athletes will be provided with the best possible medical, health, and rehabilitation care and, hopefully, allow them to return to school as soon as possible.

This work will help identify the NHPS Executive Team’s collective strengths and areas in need of improvement to support their continued growth and development as individual leaders and as a cohesive leadership team. Approximately four months after the completion of the coaching and group work, The Leadership Academy will meet with the Executive Team to assess progress, identify and discuss remaining barriers to change, etc. The follow-up will include a 1-hour virtual check-in by The Leadership Academy coaches with the leader(s) they coached and a 2-hour virtual group check-in with the Executive Team.

From April 19, 2021 to June 29, 2021, ACES – Professional Development & School Improvement will partner with Xxxxxx- Xxxxx to support with providing services such as follows: • Reliable technology maintenance, repair, and accessibility • Family Empowerment and Partnership • School-wide Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes to clarify roles, responsibilities and protocols for monitoring and providing tiered interventions and supports for student attendance. This is allotment purpose of this grant is to provide support with reliable maintenance and repair of school-based devices and infrastructure to supplement that which is currently provided by the part time building LMS. ACES will do targeted professional development to increased capacity of teachers to effectively integrate technology into lesson design that supports learning for all students as well as providing additional coaching and professional learning for teachers in developing shared understanding of digital citizenship to increased reflection on instructional practice and its impact on student outcomes.

This is strategically aligned to the District Continuous Improvement Plan with school reforms goals around focusing on the providing supports for student attendance and technology. Having reliable technology and MTSS approach is critical to the success of each child. This service will engage teachers and staff with professional learning opportunities and discussion around integrating technology lessons design to support student learning, supporting students and staff with reliable technology

There is a need to encourage more use of differentiated and small group instruction, especially at the middle and high school levels. This is an intensive professional learning program in which teachers will work closely with mentors and cohorts. Curriculum Supervisors and the Assistant Superintendent xxxx observe and interview teachers who have completed the program to assess its' effectiveness.

c. How is this service aligned to the District Continuous Improvement Plan? This service will improve Academic Achievement, especially in the middle and high schools, with innovative blended, self-paced, mastery-based model that focuses on individual student progress.

The Miss Xxxxxx Program will be measured and monitored ensuring that clinicians from the Miss Xxxxxx Program will follow their agreed upon schedules and maintain caseloads of students for the remainder of the year. Evidence of effectiveness will include number of sessions facilitated by clinicians and positive effects on attendance, discipline, and student achievement data. The lead from the Miss Xxxxxx Program lead clinician will meet with Sound School administrators as needed as well as attend provider meetings of School Social Workers, Social Work Interns, and Clinicians. We have seen outcomes of this partnership that include academic success markers and school climate success markers including decreases in disciplinary data and increases in attendance data. As we endeavor to get back to a more “business as usual” school year, we will continue regular reviews of relevant student level data primarily at Child Study Team meetings.
