Faculty leaders. A. A Faculty Council shall be established in each work location. The Council shall be advisory. It is encouraged to meet no less than three times per year. The principal (or designee) will offer 5 dates of availability. The Council Chairperson shall schedule meetings with the principal (or designee). The Council shall consult with the principal (or designee) with respect to curricula and instructional materials. 1. Composition of the Faculty Council shall be as follows: a. In addition to the designated building representative, one half (1/2) of the council shall be composed of members of the faculty elected by the faculty. Faculty Councils shall be established within thirty (30) days following the beginning of the school year. The number of members shall be as follows: Elementary Schools 5, Middle Schools 7, and High Schools 11. b. Upon notification by the MCEA designated building representative that an election is necessary, the principal shall, in a timely manner, call a faculty meeting for this purpose. The Faculty Council shall elect a chairperson to serve until such time as the council is reconstituted. 2. Faculty Councils are authorized to meet before and after the student day, for the purpose of considering recommendations to be presented to the principal by the Faculty Council chairperson prior to the Faculty Council meeting with the principal. 3. The Scope of the Faculty Council shall include issues, matters, and/or recommendations to improve the school‘s instructional program. Such recommendations will be given full consideration by the principal.

The Board and Association believe that effective school leadership is a collegial and collaborative process and that all staff should be key contributors to school leadership and the implementation of the school improvement plan. The parties to this agreement acknowledge the statutory role of leadership of the principal (school/site administrator) in the operation of successful schools as outlined in Florida Statutes and Board Policy. B. In order to facilitate school leadership for successful operation and improvement, each faculty shall be subdivided into Faculty Units (i.e., Departments, Grade Levels, Teams and/or Special Areas). Faculty Units shall be composed of members of the instructional staff who share the same or similar responsibilities. X. Xxxxx to the start of the academic school year, the school faculty and the principal will collaboratively determine the Faculty Units based on the allocation of total instructional units provided by the District. The Faculty Units will then be submitted with principal and faculty representatives’ signatures to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for review. D. Upon the establishment of Faculty Units, the school principal will recommend to each unit or take recommendations from each unit for the Faculty Leader. If the Faculty Unit does not accept the principal’s recommendation, the members of the Faculty Unit and the principal will meet to review the Unit member’s concerns. Upon hearing all concerns, a determination will be collaboratively made, whether the Faculty Leader will be replaced or continue in the positions for which they were recommended. X. Xxxxxx of Faculty Leaders include: Scheduling, budget making and monitoring, selecting and ordering materials, curriculum development, faculty coordination, participating in coordinating meetings, communicating with administration, faculty and staff, planning and implementing staff development activities, monitoring student performance within the unit and school, and other duties specific to the Unit. X. Xxxxx to the start of the academic school year, a list of duties and responsibilities of Faculty Leaders shall be prepared and distributed by the principal and the School Improvement Team.   • Faculty a. All instructors teaching dual credit courses must meet the College’s academic requirements as outlined by SACSCOC Faculty Credentialing requirements, as determined by the College. All instructors teaching dual credit classes at the School site must be approved and hired as faculty by the College prior to teaching dual credit courses. The faculty credentialing process used by the College for faculty on the College site will apply for faculty on the School site. The College will designate staff in the respective discipline to supervise and evaluate the faculty on the School site using the same or comparable procedures used with faculty on the College site. b. Faculty on the School site will be evaluated at least annually by the College or on a comparable schedule as Faculty on the College site. c. All Faculty, regardless of where the delivery of instruction occurs, must adhere to applicable Alamo Colleges District and College policies and procedures, particularly sections E, F and H. When unforeseen situations arise and the instructor scheduled to teach a course for the College cannot deliver instruction through the entirety of the scheduled course, the School Principal or designee will immediately notify the College’s Office of High School Programs. The College, as per SACSCOC guidelines, must identify a credentialed instructor that can teach the remainder of the college course. An instructor that has not been credentialed and approved by the College may not serve as a substitute to teach the remainder or any portion of a college course. If the instructor identified by the College to teach the remaining portion or any portion of the course is employed by the College, the School District will be responsible to pay the College for the compensation for the period of service of the identified instructor. e. Instructors teaching dual credit courses at the School will be either high school teachers credentialed by the respective College Faculty Chairs adhering to SACSCOC guidelines or faculty from the respective discipline at the College. The cost-sharing model approved by the Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees is based on which party pays the instructor. Please refer to Section 29 - Fiscal Matters herein. The School District is highly encouraged to hire teachers approved by the College as adjunct instructors to teach dual credit courses. The School District is encouraged to provide incentives to have instructors earn the college hours required for qualification and should coordinate approval of eligibility with the College. f. Student evaluation of instruction takes place each semester and will be a part of the faculty annual evaluation process, regardless of where the dual credit courses are offered. Performance evaluation of all dual credit faculty will adhere to College and Academic Division protocols and schedules as it pertains to all other College adjunct faculty, per SACSCOC requirements, as well as those required by the Texas Education Agency. g. Faculty teaching dual credit courses will teach using the respective course syllabus that contains the Student Learning Objectives (Herein referred to as “SLOs”). Faculty based on the School site must upload course syllabi onto Concourse, the College’s official reporting system. h. Dual Credit classes may include both ECHS and traditional dual credit students. Dual Credit students constitute those in traditional Dual Credit or ECHS. i. At the end of each semester, all faculty, regardless of where the instruction is delivered, must submit the End of Semester Clearance report to the designated College department chair by the final grades deadline. j. To adhere to the requirements outlined in House Bill 2504 (“HB2504”), all faculty will publish a curriculum vitae that will include post-secondary education and teaching experience on the official system of record where the course syllabus taught by faculty are maintained.

  • TRAINING AND EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT 9.1 The Employer and the Union recognize the value and benefit of education and training designed to enhance an employee’s ability to perform their job duties. Training and employee development opportunities will be provided to employees in accordance with Employer policies and available resources. 9.2 Attendance at employer-required training will be considered time worked. The Employer will make reasonable attempts to schedule employer-required training during an employee’s regular work shift. The Employer will pay the registration and associated travel costs in accordance with Article 23, Travel, for employer-required training.

  • TEACHERS AND RESEARCHERS 1. An individual who is a resident of a Contracting State immediately before making a visit to the other Contracting State, and who, at the invitation of any university, college, school or other similar educational institution, visits that other State for a period not exceeding two years solely for the purpose of teaching or research or both at such educational institution shall be exempt from tax in that other State on any remuneration for such teaching or research. 2. This Article shall not apply to income from research if such research is undertaken primarily for the private benefit of a specific person or persons.

  • Teams One team for the purposes of the Event shall consist of one Vehicle. Each Vehicle can contain a maximum of three Team Members, provided such Team Members have entered into a Team Entry Agreement with the Company or have otherwise agreed in writing to participate in the Event upon and subject to the Terms of Entry and the Event Rules. For the avoidance of doubt, it is the sole responsibility of each Team to inform themselves of the maximum numbers of persons legally permitted to travel in the Vehicle under Relevant Law. The Company shall provide each Team with the contact details of the Approved Hirer who will be able to provide each Team with a Vehicle for use in the Event, subject to the Team entering into an agreement (the "Borrowing Agreement") with the Hirer outlining the terms of use of the Vehicle. Should the Vehicle not be delivered to the Designated Finish Point by 14:00 local time on 19th September 2021, then the team will be liable for the "Hire Costs" outlined below. Each Vehicle will be of a similar specification to that outlined in Schedule 4 to the Team Entry Agreement. For the avoidance of doubt, the Company shall make no representations or warranties as to the suitability of the Approved Hirer or of the Vehicle for participation in the Event and any rights or warranties which a Team may have or be granted in relation to the Vehicle shall be limited to those contained in the Rental Agreement or implied by any Relevant Law.

  • Training and Professional Development 11.1 The Employer will develop and maintain an employee training and development plan and provide such plan to the Union upon request. Staff training is intended to provide an opportunity for classified staff employees for training sponsored by the University Training and Development and the UW Medical Centers Organizational Development and Training. Education/Professional Leave is intended to facilitate employee access to continuing education opportunities. Training and educational/professional leave may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing staff for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities within the framework of staff positions available at the University. 11.2 Any release time for training for employees accepted for such classes shall be in accordance with the Executive Order (currently No. 52) governing this matter. In the event that two or more employees request the same training period and supervision must limit the number of persons who may participate at one time due to work requirements, the selection will be made on a mutually agreeable basis within the department. 11.3 The training program is a proper subject for discussion by either departmental or University-wide Joint Union/Management Committees. 11.4 If the Employer requires an employee to receive training, reimbursement will be provided in accordance with the University travel rules. Employee attendance at Employer required training, either during or outside working hours, will be considered time worked and compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. 11.5 Employee attendance at training not required by the Employer and not covered by Executive Order 52, either on approved leave from or outside of working hours, will be voluntary and not considered time worked.
