The Board reserves the right to require reasonable proof of illness including a doctor's certificate, where a pattern of ETO leave indicates abuse. ETO shall accumulate up to and including (120) days. An employee will be compensated at the rate of forty ($40.00) dollars per day for any accumulated ETO days in excess of one hundred twenty (120) days at the end of the school year. In the event a WUS employee transfers from another classification and has days in their sick or personal categories, or other leave time categories, their days will be calculated by the administration office for the conversion to ETO based on the number of hours daily in their former position compared to the scheduled hours of the new position. Transferred employees can use 5 ETO days during the probationary period, from accrued time. No ETO days will be paid out upon leaving employment.

Family Emergencies. Every effort, consistent with the demonstrable needs of the Office, will be made to accommodate employees who must attend family emergencies.

If approved by the Trial Court Administrator or designee, when an emergency exists in the employee's immediate family, he may use accumulated Sick Leave to avoid salary deductions. The employer will follow the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for the use of sick leave for family members.
