Health Information Management. The Resident agrees to complete all training required to maintain competence with the electronic medical record system used by DCHD or any other institution to which the Resident may be assigned. Resident agrees to maintain his/her EPIC In Basket up-to-date as well as ensuring that the In Basket is properly emptied prior to leaving and/or graduating from the residency and/or fellowship program.

Health Information Management. 1.1 Enters, maintains and monitors Mental Health data in relation to referrals, admissions/activations and discharges/deactivations.
1.2 Monitors mental health data in relation to occasions of service and client management plans.
1.3 Updates, maintains and reports on client management plan status spreadsheet.
1.4 Provides timely and accurate reports from PSOLIS to Peel and Rockingham Kwinana (PaRK) Mental Health Service management.
1.5 Maintains Blocked Records in PSOLIS and the Blocked Records Register.
1.6 Completes patient transfers as per the Registrars/Doctors rotation schedule and movements, including the PSOLIS appointment diary.
1.7 Provides ongoing support to PaRK Mental Health Service Clinicians and administration staff in relation to mental health information systems data collection and entry as required.
1.8 Assists (in conjunction with the Mental Health Information Coordinator), with the development of “in house” systems documentation relating to PSOLIS (i.e. training guides, procedures for staff, updates to the system), and communicating/training staff accordingly.
1.9 Ensures integrity of data by checking reports and providing feedback to staff submitting data.
1.10 Corrects erroneous data as required as per Mental Health Division Error Report (MiND)
Health Information Management. 2.1 Develops and participates in various projects directed at improving the quality of the digital medical record and other health information sources.
2.2 Coordinates the management and maintenance of medical record forms (both paper and electronic) in conjunction with relevant committees.
Health Information Management. 1.1 Manages all aspects of the Women’s Health, Genetics and Mental Health (WHGMH) Directorate health information including data collection, analysis, evaluation, standards compliance, quality improvement and functionality development.
1.2 Administers and supports the Directorate information systems including PSOLIS, Allied Health System (AHS), risk management registers and research data bases. Provides ongoing support to all staff in respect to administrative and clinical functionality of information systems.
1.3 Develops, implements and evaluates strategies to enhance reliability and ensure quality and sustainability of data collection for all clinical databases and registers.
1.4 Coordinates delivery of training and support relating to women’s health information collection for all staff within the Directorate and provides training as required.
1.5 Based on data analysis, liaises with Managers for the improvement of data collection, facilitates knowledge of outcome measures, data interpretation, health service activity trends and performance against targets set.
1.6 Develops and implements women’s health information collection monitoring processes and ensures compliance with requirements of WHGMH clinical performance reporting and key performance indicators as well as State and National reporting requirements.
1.7 Acts as the key resource within the Directorate for all matters relating to women’s health information collection and maintains an expert awareness of relevant trends and issues associated with women’s health and mental health consumer outcome measurement at a State and National level
1.8 Provides Directorate and Health Service representation at local and State level committees and working groups related to women’s health and mental health ICT, information collection and reporting, liaising with the State’s various user groups and Health Information Network
1.9 Coordinates the provision of women’s health information reports to ensure compliance with local, state and national requirements

1.2. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of a professional customer focused clerical service.
1.3. Responsible for ensuring staff under supervision adhere to procedures and policies relevant to inpatient and theatre services (i.e.: data collection, medical record maintenance and customer service).
1.4. Identifies and resolves issues affecting areas of responsibility, including workload.
1.5. Actively reviews and maintains departmental policies and procedures.
1.6. Conducts meetings for staff under supervision and represents HIMS at internal and external meetings.
1.7. Provides a comprehensive consultancy advice to departmental and external personnel relevant to Inpatient and Theatre Services.
Health Information Management. (a) Health Information Manager (Qualified) An Employee who has passed examinations qualifying him/her for admission as a full graduate of the Health Information Management Association of Australia.
(b) Health Information Manager Grade 2 A Health Information Manager appointed to the grade with additional responsibilities, for example:
(i) Responsible for clinical trial/data management at recognised trials including national and international trials; or
(ii) Appointed in charge at a department where no other Health Information Manager is employed; or
(iii) Employed on work which in the opinion of the Chief Health Information Manager requires special knowledge and depth of experience.
(c) Health Information Manager Grade 3 A Health Information Manager with at least 7 years post graduate experience, possessing extensive knowledge in one or more specific branches of the profession, with a proven record in teaching and/or research, and working in an area that requires high levels of specialised knowledge and performance, as recognised by the Employer. Areas of specialty may include casemix analysis and clinical costing, specialised information technology software development and/or application, provision and/or supervision of services across a number of different (geographically or by service type) facilities, coordination of a Clinical Trials service and/or Quality Assurance project work. Parameters for this position may include some of the following: consultative role, specialised project work, lecturing in their clinical speciality, teaching undergraduate and/or post graduate students, and providing supervision and education to other Health Information Managers and staff from other disciplines.
