Higher duties and overtime. When an Employee, whilst acting in a higher classification position and in receipt of any higher classification pay pursuant to this Clause, performs such higher classification work outside his/her ordinary working hours, he/she shall receive any overtime payment to which he/she is entitled based on the higher classification rate. Relieving while Permanent Occupant is Absent An Employee may be offered the opportunity to act in a higher level position for twelve months, or more, while the permanent incumbent of the position is on an extended period of leave or secondment. At the time that this relieving opportunity becomes available, the Employee acting in the position will be advised of the expected length of time that he or she will act in the position and the details of this acting arrangement will be confirmed in writing. Should the permanent Employee not return to the organisation, the Employer may choose to advertise the position, or the CEO may waive the need to advertise the position and consider the Employee who has been acting in the position as the permanent occupant of the post.

  • Higher Duties 27.1 Where an Employee on any one day performs two or more classes of work to which different rates of pay are applicable, the Employer shall pay to the Employee the higher hourly rate for the entire day if the Employee is required to work in that class of work for more than 2 hours, and if for less than 2 hours during any one day the Employee will be paid the higher rate for the time so worked.
