Substitute Holidays. The Appointing Authority may, after consultation with the Association, designate alternate days for the observance of Veterans Day and Presidents' Day.
Substitute Holidays. (a) When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is a substitute holiday and observed as a holiday for that year for each eligible employee.
(b) When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday is a substitute holiday and observed as a holiday for that year for each eligible employee.
(c) The Chief Administrative Officer or designee may require some or all employees of an agency which provides services on Saturday or Sunday to observe the actual holiday in lieu of a substitute holiday on the preceding Friday or following Monday.
(d) When a holiday falls on an eligible employee's regular day off, a department head or designee should assign the employee an alternate day off within the same pay period in which the holiday occurs.
(1) The alternate day off for a part-time employee must be on a prorated basis.
(2) In lieu of the alternate day off, the employee must be credited with an equivalent amount of compensatory leave and must be scheduled to use the compensatory leave as soon as possible.
(3) Instead of an alternative day off or compensatory leave, a department head may subject to budget limitations, offer the employee pay at the employee’s regular hourly rate.
(e) Whenever Christmas Day, December 25, New Year's Day, January 1, Independence Day, July 4, or Veteran’s Day, November 11, falls on either a Sunday or Saturday, it will be considered a holiday for that year for an employee who has to work. The same rule must apply to an employee who may be off the holiday but who is required to work on the substitute holiday.

4. When a holiday falls on an eligible employee’s regular day off, the employee must either be credited with an equivalent amount of compensatory leave or, at the employee’s option (subject to budget limitations), paid at the employee’s regular hourly rate for the holiday.
5. Unit members working on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and/or July Fourth, and/or the respective substitute holiday shall be compensated at their regular rate of pay plus premium pay for all hours worked on the actual or substitute holiday. When a member works both the holiday and the substitute holiday, he/she shall only be entitled to earn premium pay or compensatory leave for one of these days. All hours in excess of the normal workday or workweek shall be compensated in accordance with the overtime provisions of Article 15 of this Agreement.
Substitute Holidays. After consultation with local Association Representative(s), College or University administrators may designate substitute holidays for those listed in Article 9 of the Master Agreement in order to conform with their academic calendars.
Substitute Holidays. The University will develop a schedule each year which will allow for substitute holidays. Substitute holidays will be designated by the University in order to keep the University open on scheduled holidays in order to meet class requirements. Substitute Holidays. Employees expressly required by their supervisor to work on the day a holiday is observed or employees whose normally scheduled day off falls on an observed holiday shall be provided a substitute holiday within the next ninety
Substitute Holidays. The Superintendent may designate other days for holidays set forth in sections 12.1.3, 12.1.4, 12.1.5 and 12.1.9.
Substitute Holidays. An employer may agree to a request by a Permanent Employee to substitute another day for any public holiday prescribed in this clause. This agreement must be recorded in writing in advance of the public holiday occurring.
Substitute Holidays. Employees required to work a workweek other than Monday through Friday, or who work on a work schedule that includes Saturday and Sunday, who as a result thereof lose a holiday to which they would otherwise be entitled, shall be provided Holiday Leave scheduled either at the discretion of the Department or the request of the employee subject to Management approval.
Substitute Holidays. Employees required to work on a scheduled holiday (other than New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day) shall be entitled to a substitute holiday with pay.
