Holiday Staffing. The intent herein is to improve Holiday Staffing within Xxxxxx Permanente.
Holiday Staffing. When the University deems it necessary to schedule employees to work on a recognized holiday, as outlined in Article 11.§1 above, the following procedure shall be followed:

Holiday Staffing. The Division may use reduced staffing on holidays consistent with 8 weekend staffing requirements. Volunteers will be sought first for holiday staffing. If there are 9 insufficient volunteers, employees will be selected by the Supervisor using a rotation process of 10 employees by classification and seniority. Employees may seek supervisory approval to exchange 11 their assigned holidays so long as the Division incurs no additional costs. Employees proposing the 12 exchange must notify their supervisor in writing not less than fourteen (14) days in advance of the 13 holiday. Any exchange of holiday assignments will obligate both employees to work those days 14 which they have exchanged.

Holiday Staffing. In the event that staffing requires employees to be ordered on or off duty on a holiday and no voluntary agreement can be reached amongst the employees, seniority within classification shall be the determining factor. Employees with the least amount of seniority within classification (excluding probationary employees) shall be required to work the shift(s) as scheduled on the holiday when not enough volunteers are available. Employees with the greatest seniority within classification (excluding probationary employees) shall be scheduled to work the shift(s) as scheduled on the holiday when more volunteers are available than necessary.
Holiday Staffing. One RN will be authorized to work holiday shifts (as defined in Article 9 of the Public Health Seattle and King County Staff Contract). If the scheduling of overlapping RNs falls on a holiday, the two RNs may request to take the holiday or work the holiday. If both RNs want to take the holiday, or both want to work the holiday, the decision will be made in accordance with seniority.
Holiday Staffing. Officers scheduled to work during certain high activity periods (defined below), must work those days, and may not use vacation (other than fixed week vacation approved in accordance with this agreement), personal or compensatory time off.
Holiday Staffing. The parties recognize the City’s right to determine staffing levels across the Department on designated holidays. When double squad days occur on a holiday and the City does not require both squads to work, one of the two squads will be required to work. Should members of the assigned squad request time off on the holiday and it is granted, vacancies on the assigned squad will be filled by interested officers from the other squad in seniority order.
