HOURS, OVERTIME AND HOLIDAYS. Section 1 - Work Day and Work Week The regular work week shall be 40 hours, consisting of either five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour days or four (4) consecutive ten (10) hour days. The Company shall have the right twice per year to determine the percentage of each after consultation with the Union, provided that no more than 25% of the employees covered by this Agreement on March 19, 1987, shall be compelled to work shifts of ten hour days without the consent of the Union. Work performed in excess of these limits shall be overtime and will be paid at the rate of time and one-half. Section 2 - Overtime There shall be no pyramiding or duplicate payment of overtime or premium pay for the same hours worked. Section 3 - Distribution of Overtime Work Overtime work will be divided as nearly equal as practicable among the employees in the classifications involved who normally perform such work. Section 4 - Call Backs Employees who are called back to work after having left the Company premises following the completion to the regular day's work, or on their assigned days off, shall be paid for such work at the applicable overtime rate and shall be paid a minimum of four (4) hours at such applicable overtime rate. This minimum shall not apply to employees who continue to work beyond the quitting time of their regular assignment.
HOURS, OVERTIME AND HOLIDAYS. 1. Eight (8) hours shall constitute a day’s work between the hours of eight (8:00) AM to four-thirty (4:30) PM with one-half (1/2) hour for lunch. This shall be known as the regular working day and shall be time actually employed at work. The regular lunch period will be between twelve (12:00) Noon and twelve thirty (12:30) PM. The employees may be allowed to work a flexible starting time between 6:00 AM and 8:00AM. 2. It is understood that at times the Employer’s need for productivity and efficiency on the job will not allow the crew to take lunch at the regular time. Under such circumstances, Employers may schedule part of the crew to take lunch between one hour before and one hour after the regular lunch period. If for any reason this is not possible and the employee is required to work through lunch period, he shall be paid time and one-half (1-1/2) for same and given a reasonable amount of time to eat lunch, but at least fifteen (15) minutes to eat lunch and the Employer will make arrangements so that no employee shall eat lunch later then 5-1/2 hours after starting work. 3. Employees shall be at their posts prepared to start work at the regular starting time. It is the intent of the parties that there be a full day’s work for a fair day’s wage. 4. Time and one-half shall be paid for all hours worked on Saturday. In the event of lost time Monday through Friday, Saturday may be worked at straight time to make up the lost time. Employees performing work on a Saturday make-up day who are tending a trade who does not have a Saturday make-up shall be paid at the premium time rate. When a Holiday falls during the work week it negates Saturday as a make-up day for straight time. Special local, area or national agreements negotiated to cover specified projects or classes of work shall be excluded from operation of this provision. Monday at the designated starting time will be the beginning of the normal work week when the Saturday make-up day is involved. 5. If a special starting time is required for any shift for circumstances beyond the control of the Employer, the Employer may request such a starting time from the union which request shall not unreasonably be denied. 6.   • OVERTIME AND HOLIDAY PAY 5.3.1 All hours worked by an employee in excess of eight (8) hours per shift and in excess of forty (40) straight time hours per week shall be paid for at the rate of one and one-half times the straight time rate. All hours worked by an employee in excess of ten (10) hours per shift and all hours worked on Sunday shall be paid at the rate of double the straight time rate. 5.3.2 Additional holidays recognized in the Construction Industry in each geographical area will be observed on all work covered by this Appendix.

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate. 9.3.2. A full-time employee who works other than a Monday through Friday schedule and who is not scheduled to work on a calendar holiday shall be given at the discretion of the Employer (1) another scheduled workday off with pay, or (2) an additional day's pay at his/her regular rate if funds are available.

  • Vacation, Sick Leave and Holidays Executive shall be entitled to four (4) weeks (28 business days) of vacation, and also sick leave and holidays at full pay in accordance with the Company’s policies established and in effect from time to time.

  • Vacations and Holidays The Executive will be entitled to four weeks paid vacation each Fiscal Year in accordance with the vacation policies of the Employer in effect for its executive officers from time to time. Vacation must be taken by the Executive at such time or times as approved by the Chairman of the Board or Chief Executive Officer. The Executive will also be entitled to the paid holidays set forth in the Employer's policies. Vacation days and holidays during any Fiscal Year that are not used by the Executive during such Fiscal Year may not be used in any subsequent Fiscal Year.

  • HOLIDAYS AND HOLIDAY PAY 165. 1. A holiday is calculated based on an eight hour day. The following days are designated as holidays: January 1 ( New Year's Day) the third Monday in January (Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx.'s birthday) the third Monday in February (Presidents' Day) the last Monday in May (Memorial Day) July 4 (Independence Day) the first Monday in September (Labor Day) the second Monday in October (Columbus Day) November 11 (Veterans' Day) Thanksgiving Day the day after Thanksgiving December 25 (Christmas Day) 166.   • PAID HOLIDAYS 12.01 The following days are recognized as holidays under this Agreement: New Year's Day Family Day Good Friday Easter Sunday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Boxing Day Christmas Day 12.02 Full-time employees required to work on a paid holiday shall have the option of either: (a) Pay at the rate of two times (2x) the employee's regular rate of pay for work performed on such holiday, in addition to the employee's regular pay, or (b) Pay at the rate of two times (2x) the employee's regular rate for work performed on such holiday and an alternate day off with pay at a time that is mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee. The alternate day off is to be taken within six (6) months after the holiday upon mutual agreement between the Employer and Employee. 12.03 If a paid holiday falls within a full-time employee’s normal schedule/rotation they shall have the option to either work the holiday with the appropriate pay or to request the holiday off, subject to operational requirements. Requests for the holiday off must be made prior to the work schedule being posted for that period. 12.04 In order to qualify for pay for a holiday, an employee shall complete her full shift on each of the scheduled working days immediately preceding and following the holiday concerned unless excused by the Employer or the employee was absent due to: (a) approved sick leave; (b) vacation granted by the Employer; (c) the employee's regular scheduled day off; (d) a paid leave of absence provided the employee is not otherwise compensated for the holiday. (a) Where a holiday falls on an employee's scheduled day off, an additional day off with pay will be scheduled at a mutually acceptable time. (b) Where a holiday falls during an employee's scheduled vacation period, her vacation shall be extended by one (1) day unless the employee and the Employer agree to schedule a different day off with pay. 12.06 A tour that begins or ends during the twenty-four (24) hour period of the above holidays, where the majority of hours worked falls within the holiday, shall be deemed to be work performed on the holiday for the full period of the tour.

  • Vacation and Holidays Executive will receive four weeks of paid vacation each year in addition to all holidays observed by the Company and its subsidiaries. Executive may carry over, in the aggregate, up to four weeks of unused vacation to a subsequent year. Any unused vacation time in excess of four weeks will not accumulate or carry over from one calendar year to the next. Each calendar year, Executive shall take not less than one (1) week vacation.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall be a Saturday, Sunday or U.S. federal holiday, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding day that is not a Saturday, Sunday or U.S. federal holiday.
