Interconnected Operations. This Agreement governs the interconnected and coordinated operation of PG&E's Electric System, a portion of which has been turned over to the operational control of the CAISO, and the NCPA Parties’ Electric Systems. As of the Effective Date of this Agreement, the CAISO operates the Balancing Authority Area in which the Parties operate their respective Electric Systems. The Parties agree that, during the term of this Agreement and unless otherwise provided for by amendment of this Agreement, that portion or those portions of the Parties’ Electric Systems that are interconnected shall be operated in parallel pursuant to the terms and conditions of this Agreement and their respective Balancing Authority Area Arrangements. Each Party shall at all times to the maximum extent practicable avoid causing any Adverse Impact on another Party's Electric System.
Interconnected Operations. 9.1. SCE shall operate and maintain the Interconnection Facilities in accordance with the applicable ISO Tariff provisions and protocols, TO Tariff provisions, WECC and NERC reliability criteria, and Good Utility Practice, as they may change from time to time. 9.2. Generator shall operate, and maintain the Project in accordance with the applicable ISO Tariff provisions and protocols, TO Tariff provisions, and WECC and NERC reliability criteria, as they may change from time to time, as applicable to the protection of the SCE transmission and distribution systems, including, but not limited to, such considerations as protection equipment and appropriate communications facilities. 9.3. Each Party shall comply with Applicable Reliability Standards. Each Party shall provide to the other Party all information that may reasonably be required by the other Party to comply with Applicable Laws and Regulations and Applicable Reliability Standards. 9.4. Generator shall cause the Project to participate in ISO congestion management. Generator acknowledges that the Project slightly increases the need for congestion management in order to avoid overloading of the two Xxxxxx-Xxxx 230 kV transmission lines. Generator is aware that the Project will compete with other market generation for available transmission capacity under such system conditions in accordance with ISO protocols. 9.5. Generator shall cause the Project to participate in any RAS required to prevent thermal overloads and unstable conditions resulting from outages. Such participation shall be in accordance with applicable FERC regulations, ISO Tariff provisions and protocols. Generator acknowledges that Generator will not be entitled to any compensation from SCE for loss of generation output when (i) Project generation is reduced or tripped off- line due to implementation of the RAS; or (ii) such generation output is restricted in the event the RAS becomes inoperable. 9.6. Generator shall cause the Project to participate in all Remedial Action Schemes testing requirements and procedures. Generator and SCE shall coordinate the scheduling and performance of the initial and subsequent routine tests of the RAS in accordance with the Operating Procedures. The initial test of RAS will require a physical tripping of the Project’s circuit breakers to simulate the necessary reduction in the generation output of the Project along with the necessary actual outage of transmission elements to assess and test the validity o...

Interconnected Operations. Members which own or control generation facilities in, or transmission facilities in or contiguous to, the MAPP Region shall operate such facilities on an interconxxxxed basis under normal system conditions. If interconnection of the systems of the Members becomes interrupted, the Members shall cooperate to remove the cause of such interruption and shall restore the interconnection to normal operation as soon as practicable. The Members shall cooperate in keeping the frequency of the interconnected systems of the Members at 60 Hz, in keeping the interchange of power and energy between the systems of the Members as close as is practicable to the scheduled amounts, and in maintaining mutually satisfactory voltage levels. Each Member owning or controlling generation or transmission facilities shall be responsible for the reactive volt-ampere requirements of its system. Reactive volt-amperes may be interchanged between systems from time to time, subject to agreement between the Members involved, if a benefit to one system may be gained thereby without causing undue hardship to another system.
Interconnected Operations. (a) The Interconnection Customer shall cause the Small Generating Facility to participate in any Special Protection Systems (SPS) that may be required to prevent thermal overloads and unstable conditions resulting from outages. Development of and participation in shall be in accordance with applicable FERC regulations, and ISO Tariff provisions and protocols and pursuant to Good Utility Practice. If and when such need arises, the Interconnection Customer will be notified by the Distribution Provider and implementation will be coordinated with the Interconnection Customer. The Interconnection Customer shall not be entitled to any compensation from the Distribution Provider, pursuant to the Agreement, for loss of generation output when (i) the Small Generating Facility generation is reduced or tripped off-line due to implementation of the SPS; or (ii) such generation output is restricted in the event the SPS becomes inoperable. (b) Following outages of the Interconnection Facilities or the Small Generating Facility, the Interconnection Customer shall not energize the Small Generating Facility for any reason without specific permission from the Distribution Provider’s operations personnel. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. (c) Neither Party’s facilities shall cause excessive voltage flicker nor introduce excessive distortion to the sinusoidal voltage or current waves as defined by ANSI Standard C84.1- 1989, in accordance with IEEE Standard 519, or any applicable superseding electric industry standard or any alternative Applicable Reliability Standard or applicable reliability council standard. In the event of a conflict among ANSI Standard C84.1- 1989, or any applicable superseding electric industry standard, or any alternative Applicable Reliability Standard or applicable reliability council standard, the alternative Applicable Reliability Standard or applicable reliability council standard shall control. (d) Interconnection Customer shall comply with all Applicable Reliability Standards for the Interconnection Customer’s Interconnection Facilities and Small Generating Facility. Distribution Provider will not assume any responsibility for complying with mandatory reliability standards for such facilities and offers no opinion whether Interconnection Customer must register with NERC pursuant to Section 215 of the Federal Power Act. Such determination is the responsibility of Interconnection Customer. If required to register with NERC, Interc...
