JOB POSTINGS AND BIDDING PROCEDURES. (a) All vacancies and/or newly-created positions within the bargaining unit shall be posted within seven (7) working days of the date the vacancy occurs, or the new position is created. All vacancies or newly-created positions within the bargaining unit shall be filled on the basis of seniority and qualifications, as determined by the Board of Education. All vacancies will be posted for a period of seven (7) working days, setting forth the minimum requirements for the position in a conspicuous place on employee bulletin boards in each building. (a) Vacancies and/or openings in the Maintenance Department will be posted internally within the Association only for a period of 5 day, or shortened through mutual agreement. All current Association members have the opportunity to apply. The Director of Operations may deny any request and must explanation for denial. The Director of Operations has ultimate right of assignment.

(a) A vacancy is defined to mean any permanent job opening, including regular part- time jobs, which the Employer intends to fill and which result from the creation of a new job by the Employer or any permanent opening, on an existing job created by death, quit, discharge, retirement or permanent transfer of an employee.
