LEAVE - UNION ACTIVITIES. Upon certification by the Union to the Company that an active employee (or employees) with at least one (1) year of unbroken service with the Company has been elected or appointed as a full-time Union Representative for the purpose of conducting Union business directly connected with this bargaining agreement, the Company will grant a leave of absence without pay for a maximum of one (1) year. This leave will be extended for one (1) year periods upon request by the Union. Upon certification by the International Union that an active employee with at least one (1) year of unbroken service with the Company has accepted a full-time position as a Union representative of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the Company will grant such employee a leave of absence for the term of such position without loss of seniority. Leaves of Absence as mentioned in this Section shall not extend beyond the term of such full-time position. No more than one (1) such leave shall be in effect at any one (1) time, except by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union.

  • Time Off for Union Activities A. Conventions and Conferences Union-designated employees may be allowed time off without pay to attend union-sponsored conventions or conferences.
