Longevity Buy-Out a. Bargaining unit members with fifteen (15) years of service in New Bedford may elect a longevity payments of three thousand dollars ($3000.00) per year for three consecutive years that follow such election. Longevity payments specified in Section 1, immediately above, and benefits under Article VII, herein, will cease upon individual employee acceptance of this Longevity Buy-Out provision. Bargaining unit members who so elect this provision will be entitled to the entire sum of nine thousand dollars ($9000.00) regardless of date of termination. Payment will continue until the remaining credit is exhausted if an entitled unit member is terminated. b. Application is required and immediate placement is not insured, since the school district retains the right to set budget limits, however, the school district will not set budget limits that are generally viewed as restrictive. Bargaining unit members electing but not immediately placed under the provisions of section a, above, will be carried forward to the next school year and placed at the top of the list, as provided in section c, below. c. In the event that an abnormally high number of bargaining unit members elect this option in a specific year, the following sequence of events will take place: 1. The Employer will send a request to all employees electing the option-seeking members who are willing to delay the start of the option until the following year. Such members will have five (5) school days to respond to the request. 2. If a budgetary problem still exists after voluntary delays are sought, members electing this option will start in order of seniority, with the most senior starting first. Any remaining electing employees will start in the next school year as provided in section b, immediately above. 3. No bargaining unit member will be denied immediate placement in the Longevity Buy-Out option for any reason other than as specified in section c, paragraphs 1 and 2, herein. d. As of July 1, 2011 this provision has no application. Compensation for column placement shall be effective September 1 for the school year, if the administrator submits his/her evidence for pay adjustment for column placement to the Human Resources Office no later than October 1 of the school year. Evidence submitted subsequent to October 1, but no later than March 1 of the school year, shall be effective February 1 of the school year. Evidence for pay adjustment submitted after March 1 shall be effective for September 1 of the following school year.

Related to Longevity Buy-Out

  • Longevity Pay If an employee leaves State Classified employment and later is rehired, he/she shall receive no longevity pay. However, once such a rehired employee has been in pay status for five (5) years, all previous service time shall be credited for longevity pay. The only exception shall be for employees rehired who repay severance pay received. (See Article 22, Section Q.)

  • Longevity Any full-time employee who has completed ten years of continuous service shall be paid, in addition to his/her normal salary, the sum of $300.00 annually and an additional $300.00 for each additional five years of continuous service. An employee shall be eligible to receive this payment if his/her anniversary date is on or before December 1. The longevity payment shall be paid in the employee's first paycheck received in December. An employee who retires or terminates prior to December 1, but after his/her anniversary date, which is on or after December 2, will be entitled to the appropriate longevity payment upon retirement or termination.

  • Longevity Payments (a) Longevity payments as set out in the salary schedule in Appendix A-1 (Interest Arbitration ineligible employees) and Appendix A-2 (Interest Arbitration eligible employees) will be provided to eligible employees upon completion of 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of continuous service. Continuous service shall mean time in a title or combination of titles which have existed and/or presently exist in the Security Services Unit, Agency Police Services Unit or Security Supervisors Unit. Such payment will be added to base pay effective on the payroll period which next begins following the actual completion of 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of continuous service. (b) In no event may an employee's basic annual salary exceed the longevity maximum of the salary grade as the result of the longevity payment or adjustment. (c) Employees whose basic annual salary after the application of the general increase and implementation of the new salary schedule is above the job rate will be considered to have received longevity payments in the amount by which their basic annual salary exceeds the job rate for their grade. (d) Such longevity payments will be added to and considered part of base pay for all purposes except for determining an employee's change in salary upon movement to a different salary grade and his potential for movement to the job rate of the new grade, after which determination the appropriate longevity payments will be restored. (e) The longevity amount for all employees will be adjusted to reflect the longevity payments which are appropriate to their current salary grade.

  • VOETSTOOTS The PROPERTY is sold: 8.1. Voetstoots in accordance with the Sectional Plan and the participation quota endorsed thereon with the opening of the Sectional Title Register, or as they are endorsed already, and any amendments or adjustments thereto from time to time in accordance with the terms of the Act and without any warranties express or implied, the SELLER shall not be liable for any patent or latent defects. Should a dispute arise or be declared, such dispute shall be resolved by an Arbitrator appointed by the Developer. The costs in respect thereof shall be borne by the unsuccessful party. Pending the outcome of the dispute, the PURCHASER shall be obliged to pay the outstanding amount to the Conveyancers who shall hold it in trust.

  • Longevity Bonus After twenty (20) years of continuous service, an employee will receive a longevity bonus of seven hundred dollars ($700) per year, payable in one lump sum by the second pay period following the employee's anniversary date.

  • WSIB & LTD An Employee who is receiving benefits under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, or under an LTD plan, is not entitled to benefits under a school board’s sick leave and short-term disability plan for the same condition unless the employee is on a graduated return to work program then WSIB/LTD remains the first payor. For clarity, where an employee is receiving partial benefits under WSIB/LTD, they may be entitled to receive benefits under the sick leave plan, subject to the circumstances of the specific situation. During the interim period from the date of the injury/incident or illness to the date of the approval by the WSIB/LTD of the claim, the employee may access sick leave and short-term leave and disability coverage. A reconciliation of sick leave deductions made and payments provided, will be undertaken by the school board once the WSIB/LTD has adjudicated and approved the claim. In the event that the WSIB/LTD does not approve the claim, the school board shall deal with the absence consistent with the terms of the sick leave and short-term leave and disability plans.
