MEAL AND TEA BREAKS. The Employee shall be entitled to :-
(i) a meal break of one hour; and
(ii) 2 tea breaks of at least 10 minutes each.
MEAL AND TEA BREAKS. You are entitled to paid rest breaks and unpaid meal breaks in accordance with the Employment Relations Act 2000.
MEAL AND TEA BREAKS. 22.1 Subject to this clause, for each period of duty in excess of 5 hours an Employee is entitled to a meal break of between 30 – 60 minutes.
22.2 All meal breaks are unpaid unless agreed by Estia Health. For allowances payable in respect of meals breaks, refer to clause 26 (On Call (during meal break)) and clause 38 (Meal Allowance for Overtime).
22.3 In addition to meal breaks, an Employee is entitled to take one 10 minute paid tea break during for each four hours worked. On shifts of 7.6 hours or longer, the Employee and Estia Health may agree for the Employee to take one 20 minute tea break in lieu of two 10 minute tea breaks.
22.4 Wherever practicable taking into account operational requirements, meal breaks and tea breaks are to be taken at mutually agreed times convenient to the Employee and Estia Health; provided that Employees are to ensure they do not work more than 5 hours without taking a meal break, unless:
(a) it is reasonably necessary in an emergency;
(b) the Employee is appointed to be “in charge” during the shift pursuant to clause 33 (In Charge Allowance), or to remain “on call” during their meal break pursuant to clause 26 (On Call (during meal break)), and it is reasonably necessary to ensure continuity of resident care; or
(c) it has been expressly approved or required by the Executive Director or Care Director.
22.5 In circumstances where the appointed “in charge” Employee has not able to take a paid break in accordance with clause 22.4 in order to ensure continuity of resident care, the “in charge” Employee will be paid the equivalent amount as compensation for the loss of the paid break in addition to the In Charge Allowance.
22.6 Where an Employee does work for more than 5 hours without a meal break of at least 30 minutes, wherever practicable the Employee shall arrange to instead take a meal break at the earliest opportunity and before completion of the shift.
22.7 Where an Employee (other than an Employee appointed “in charge” during the shift or “on call” during their meal break) works more than 5 hours without a meal break of at least 30 minutes, the Employee will be entitled to payment at overtime rates for all time worked beyond 5 hours until either completion of the shift or commencing a meal break of at least 30 minutes, whichever is the lesser period.
22.8 All claims for overtime rates or allowances arising from meal breaks are to be submitted by the affected Employee through TimeTarget in accordance with clause 27 (Timek...
MEAL AND TEA BREAKS. The shift periods shall incorporate one paid 30 minute meal break (which shall be counted as time worked) and one unpaid 30 minute meal break. The first break shall be taken within 6 hours of commencing duty unless this is delayed by agreement to meet patient needs.
MEAL AND TEA BREAKS. 17.1 No employee shall work more than five hours without a meal break except that, by agreement between the employer and employee, the employee may work up to six hours without a meal break.
17.2 Meal breaks shall not be less than 30 minutes.
17.3 Meal breaks shall not be counted as time worked unless the employee is:
17.3.1 called on duty; or
17.3.2 required to be on call;
17.4 Morning and afternoon tea breaks of not more than seven minutes shall be allowed without deduction of pay at a time convenient to the employer. By agreement between the employer and employee the tea breaks may be combined and taken as one fifteen minute tea break at a mutually convenient time.
17.5 No more than three breaks (including the meal break) shall be allowed in any one shift.
MEAL AND TEA BREAKS. 19.1 All employees Meal breaks will not be less than 30 minutes but will not be counted as time worked. Provided that where an Enrolled Nurse or Health Worker is called on duty during a mealtime the period worked will be counted in the ordinary working hours of duty.
19.2 Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing Where an employee is unable to access their 30 minute unpaid meal break they will be paid for a straight through shift at ordinary rates.
19.3 The time allowed for morning and afternoon tea will not exceed seven minutes for each such break which will be taken when convenient to the Employer without deduction of pay for such time.
MEAL AND TEA BREAKS. Performer shall be afforded reasonable meal and tea breaks and practitioner/facilitator undertakes to provide the performer with reasonable meals and refreshments during the performance.

27.3.1 Employees must receive an unpaid meal break of between 30 minutes and one hour per day. An Employee must not be required to work for more than six hours without a meal break. Where the Employee works more than six hours without a meal break the Employee will be paid at overtime rates until he or she commences a meal break.
27.3.2 An Employee must also receive one tea break of fifteen minutes each per day.
