National Certifications. Subd. 1. National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS): Teachers may participate in the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Program. Activities for this certification may qualify for board credit. The School District Professional Growth Committee with the Director, Human Resources will apply the committee standards and guidelines to the professional work submitted to determine the number of board credits earned through the process. Subd. 2. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): Speech/Language clinicians may participate in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification process. Activities for this Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) may qualify for board credit through the School District Professional Growth Committee. The School District Professional Growth Committee with the Director, Human Resources will apply the committee’s standards and guidelines to the professional work submitted to determine the number of board credits earned through the process.
National Certifications. There shall be a certification differential paid to all Nurses at the rate of $2.00 per hour for current certification for up to each of two (2) nationally recognized certifications. The two (2) may be any of the following or any certification which is recognized by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS) for areas pertinent to the Hospital as determined by their Nursing Director:
National Certifications. Employees who successfully complete the voluntary National Teacher Board Certification process will be paid $1500 in addition to their regular annual salary. School Social Workers who earn the License for Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW), Speech and Language Therapists who earn the National Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), School Psychologists who earn the National Certification issued by the National Association of School Psychologists (NCSP), Occupational Therapists who earn the Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) Certificate, School Nurses who earn a National School Nurses Certification, ECFE teachers who earn the Certified Family Life Educator from the National Board of Family Educators, School Counselors who earn National Certified Counselor (NCC) status, and Licensed Marriage Family Therapist status earned will be paid $1500 in addition to their regular annual salary. Stipends for part-time employees will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
National Certifications. Any Teacher that earns certification from the National Board of Teaching (National Certification), national certification of Competence from the American Speech/Language Hearing Association, national certification as a Registered Occupational Therapist, national certification from the NCSP (National Certified School Psychologists), or earns an E.D.D. or P.H.D, shall be compensated One Thousand dollars ($1000.00) annually for the life of that certification. This amount shall be in addition to the amount the teacher is compensated according to Schedule A or B.
National Certifications. Teachers employed for a minimum of one semester and who successfully complete and maintain the National Board-Certified Teacher (NBCT) process will be paid $1000 in addition to their regular annual salary. Speech-Language Pathologists who earn and maintain the Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) through the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and Occupational Therapists who earn and maintain the Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) Certificate through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), will be paid $1000 in addition to their regular annual salary. If s school speech-language pathologist’s or a school occupational therapist’s national certification terminates for any reason, this stipend will no longer be payable. A social worker who is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) through The Association of Social Worker Boards (ASWB) shall be paid a stipend of $1000. If a school social worker’s national certification terminates for any reason, this stipend will no longer be payable. A school psychologist who is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) through the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) shall be paid a $1000 stipend. If a school psychologist’s national certification terminates for any reason, this stipend will no longer be payable. A nurse who is a Nationally Certified School Nurse (NCSN) through the National Board for Certification of School Nurses (NBCSN) shall be paid a stipend of $1000 per year. If a school nurse’s national certification terminates for any reason, this stipend will no longer be payable. Stipend payments will be paid on June 15th.
National Certifications. A Registered Nurse who (a) originally acquired a national certification in her/his area of specialty within the three (3) year period prior to the commencement of this Agreement or (b) originally acquires a national certification in her/his areas of specialty within the term of this Agreement shall receive $500 for each such national certification. A Registered Nurse who obtains a re-certification of a national certification in her/his area of specialty during the term of this Agreement shall receive $250 for each such re-certification. To receive these amounts, the Registered Nurse promptly must submit proof of the existing certification, or submit proof of a new certification or subsequent re-certification within 90 days of receipt.

Other National Certifications: The Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources, may recognize other national certifications in this section after they are approved for continuing education clock hour exemptions by the Minnesota Board of Teaching.
National Certifications. Each ESA staff member who has been awarded and maintains the professional recognition of the following specific national credentials will be paid an annual stipend of $1,000, pro-rated by FTE: Nurse: National School Nurse Certification Occupational Therapist: National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy Physical Therapist: National Physical Therapy Exam Speech Language Pathologist: Certificate of Clinical Competence Psychologist: National Certificate in School Psychology or American Board of Professional Psychologist Diplomate
