Officer in Charge (OIC). A deputy is assigned to act as a shift supervisor, in the absence of the sergeant from that shift, that deputy shall receive an increase in pay over his/her current hourly rate in the amount of four dollars ($4.00) per hour. Deputies selected to be OIC, pursuant to Duty Assignment DA-XXX-OIC shall be on the current list for promotion to sergeant and/or have a minimum of three (3) years of patrol experience as a Xxxx County Sheriff’s deputy.

Officer in Charge (OIC). City will pay all Police Officers serving a full shift in the temporary assignment of Officer in Charge (OIC) $12 per shift worked as OIC. This additional pay will not be credited until a Police Officer has accumulated ten full shifts as OIC. Police Officers performing a full range of duties and responsibilities and serving a minimum of 5 hours per shift in the temporary assignment of Officer in Charge (OIC) shall receive special additional pay of $6 per shift worked as OIC. Should more than one OIC be involved with the same shift, only one OIC meeting the 5-hour-per-shift requirement shall receive this compensation.
Officer in Charge (OIC). Employees who are routinely and consistently assigned by the Division Manager as an officer in Charge (OIC) to lead a shift in the absence of a supervisor will receive supervisor premium in the amount of one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for those hours worked as a lead. The Department Head in their sole discretion may identify and limit the number of Juvenile Correctional Officers who receive the OIC premium compensation. The Department Head reserves the sole right to reassign personnel from OIC assignments, with or without cause, based on the overall needs of the department. Reassignments are not considered punitive in nature, and are considered a management prerogative and therefore not subject to the grievance procedures.

The Officer In Charge shall receive an additional sixty cents ($.60) per hour for all hours worked as OIC, after a minimum of four (4) hours of OIC have been completed.

Officer in Charge (OIC). Officers designated as OIC shall receive forty-eight (48) hours of compensatory time per year, for so long as such officer serves as an OIC, subject to the maximum accrual of compensatory time. If an employee has reached the maximum accrual for compensatory time, such compensation shall be in the form of straight time pay. The distribution of OIC compensatory time shall occur monthly in four (4) hour increments to those members who have been designated as an OIC for that month. The Village reserves the right to determine the number of OIC positions.
