Personal, Emergency and Family Leave.
(a) A regular employee shall in each calendar year (January 1 to December 31) be entitled to utilize up to a maximum of four (4) paid work days to be deducted from their accumulated sick leave bank (Article 21.04) for the purposes of personal, emergency and family leave.
(b) In order to be entitled to the paid leave pursuant to this Article, an employee must have and maintain a minimum of seventy-five (75) days in their accumulated sick leave bank.
Personal, Emergency and Family Leave. (i) A Regular Employee shall in each calendar year be entitled to utilize up to a maximum of three (3) paid work days for the purposes of personal leave (such as, but not limited to, marriage of employee; wedding of the employee’s child; birth or adoption of the employee’s child except while on maternity, parental or adoption leave; citizenship), household or domestic emergency and family illness leave.
(ii) Such leave shall apply only on the work day on which the situation occurs, and provided the Employer is open for business.
(iii) An employee shall get prior approval for the leave from the Employer and schedule the leave to meet operational requirements.
(iv) In the event of an emergency or unforeseeable occurrence the employee shall notify their supervisor of their absence as soon as practical.
(v) The Employer reserves the right to seek a satisfactory reason for the leave.
(vi) It is understood that the provisions of this Article shall not apply to employees when assigned to maintain services during an emergency (such as snow removal) or the maintenance of essential services (defined as the minimum staffing requirement as determined by the regulations for ammonia plants).

(4) In the event of an emergency or unforeseeable occurrence the employee shall notify their supervisor of their absence as soon as practical.

Personal, Emergency and Family Leave. (a) Employees with more than three month’s employment service may take up to five days of paid leave (pro-rata for part-time employees) in each calendar year which may be taken as full or half days to be used for personal emergency and family leave such as:
(i) unexpected personal problems or family related difficulties;
(ii) unexpected absence of child carer or dependent care giver;
(iii) school closure or strike; and/or
(iv) other circumstances where it is reasonable to request leave.
(b) One day of this entitlement may be used for any one of the following purposes:
(i) diversity day, or
(ii) moving residence. This day must be planned at least two weeks in advance and is subject to business needs. Employees may take 1 day as Volunteering Leave. This is in addition to Emergency Leave entitlement. This day must be planned at least two weeks in advance and is subject to business needs.
(c) The manager may request verification of the reason for leave. Personal emergency and family leave is non-cumulative. Personal emergency and family leave is available in addition to sick leave.

a) Any employee who has completed six (6) months of employment shall in each calendar year (January 1st to December 31st) be entitled to utilize up to a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours to be deducted from their accumulated sick leave bank (Article 19.01) for the purposes of personal, emergency and family leave.
b) An employee shall get prior approval for the leave from the Employer and schedule the leave to meet operational requirements.
c) In the event of an emergency or unforeseeable occurrence, the employee shall notify their supervisor of their absence as soon as practical.
