Benefits While on Long Term Disability. (i) An employee during the qualification period and while in receipt of Long Term Disability benefits shall be considered to be on approved leave of absence. Such an employee, including one engaged in rehabilitation employment with the Employer, shall continue to be covered by the provisions of the Medical Services Plan, Extended Health Plan, Group Life Insurance and Dental Plan. While in receipt of Long Term Disability payments, contributions to Municipal Pension Plan shall be waived and such status shall be reported to the Plan.

Benefits While on Long Term Disability. (a) An employee must make application for Long Term Disability benefits while on an extended sick leave and prior to the completion of the qualification period, and that if the employee is accepted for Long Term Disability benefits that the employee shall commence Long Term Disability upon completion of the qualification period.
Benefits While on Long Term Disability. The Employer shall pay and keep in force one hundred (l00) percent of the cost of Employer Health Tax, Semi-Private Hospital, Extended Health, Dental Care and Vision benefits for the first two (2) years of long-term disability payments. In addition, the Employer shall extend such coverage for employees, remaining disabled within the terms of the long-term disability contract for an additional year for each year of full-time employment with the Employer in excess of two (2) years.

(iii) Seniority shall continue to accrue while on Long Term Disability. (iv) The GVLRA/CUPE LTD Trust may examine possible options to improve health and welfare benefit entitlements and make such recommendations to the Parties to this Agreement as the Trustees deem appropriate.

For recipients on Long Term Disability benefits the eighty/twenty (80/20) premium cost sharing for the above plans shall remain for the first two years while on Long Term Disability after which the benefit costs shall be shared fifty per cent (50%) by the Employer and fifty per cent (50%) by the recipient for the duration of the claim. (d) Seniority shall continue to accrue while on Long Term Disability. (e) The GVLRA/CUPE LTD Trust may examine possible options to improve health and welfare benefit entitlements and make such recommendations to the parties to this Agreement as the trustees deem appropriate. (f) Notwithstanding anything in this Article, the Employer and the Union recognize that eligibility for and entitlement to long term disability benefits shall be as set out in the Plan document.

Benefits While on Long Term Disability. (h) Notwithstanding any of the provisions otherwise contained in this Agreement, a member required to make appearance(s) at court while in receipt of the benefits under Article 13, Section (9.1) Maternity/Parental Leave shall not receive any benefits of this Article 7, but rather, shall be compensated only an amount equal to the benefits equal to those provided under Article 13, Section (9.2), Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB).

In addition, the Employer shall extend such coverage for employees, remaining disabled within the terms of the long-term disability contract for an additional each year of full-time employment with the Employer in excess of two (2) years. Seniority, Vacation Entitlement and Job Security While on Disability Seniority, vacation entitlement and job security shall continuefor disabled employees qualifying for short-term and long-term disability benefits subject to the following restrictions: vacation entitlement would continue when the employee qualifies and is receiving short-term disability benefits only; and a position will be held available for an employee from the initial date of disability which necessitates continuous absence from employment. It understoodthat the terms and conditions of the long term disabilitypolicy are not subject to the grievance provisions of this agreement. However rejection or delays of claims due to Employer error, may be grieved.

  • Long Term Disability (income replacement during a qualifying disability equal to sixty-six and two-thirds percent (66 2/3%) of basic monthly earnings to the established maximum following a one hundred and twenty (120) working day elimination period);

  • Long Term Disability Benefit In the event an employee, while covered under this plan, becomes totally disabled as a result of an accident or a sickness, then, after the employee has been totally disabled for seven (7) months, including periods approved in Section 1.3(a) and (c), he/she shall be eligible to receive a monthly benefit as follows:

  • Long Term Disability Insurance 250. The City, at its own cost, shall provide to employees a Long Term Disability (LTD) benefit that provides, after a one hundred and eighty (180) day elimination period, sixty percent salary (60%) (subject to integration) up to age sixty-five (65). Employees who are receiving or who are eligible to receive LTD shall be eligible to participate in the City's Catastrophic Illness Program as set forth in the ordinance governing such program.
