Professional Development Training. Each supervising manager or department head develops procedures whereby a worker or a classified hourly employee receives training in the job assignment and is encouraged to learn the complete function of the department. Professional Development training classes are organized when needed and all workers and classified hourly employees are encouraged to participate in such training.
Professional Development Training. Professional development training shall be offered by the SPS to employees in order to enable them to improve their abilities and skills, subject to available funding.
1. In-service courses for credit will address themselves to specific needs of the SPS and be relevant to the employee's present or planned future responsibilities.
2. Professional development courses shall be made available at no cost except for material and transportation fees connected with participation in the course.
3. All material, tuition or transportation fees for college extension courses shall be paid by the employee.
4. Courses shall be offered in a variety of geographical locations whenever possible.
5. Courses shall be offered at times which are as convenient as possible for the majority of those employees participating whenever feasible.
6. In an effort to effectively teach all students and work with all staff and parents, the SPS, on an ongoing basis, will offer appropriate training in working with special needs students; working with difficult people; and working in an inclusion model. The joint district/SEA special education best practices working group will determine what professional development should be offered to ensure a successful working environment with students. Special education instructional assistants can be required to participate in trainings adapted for their students’ needs.
Professional Development Training. In the event that the Board determines that curriculum changes require professional development training, the Board will provide the opportunity for such training. The Board will assume all expenses necessary for professional development training for which participation is required by all appropriate personnel. Attendance at professional development training programs by members of the bargaining unit shall be without additional compensation. Attendance at professional development training programs by members of the bargaining unit shall be with additional compensation if held on a day not normally defined as a teacher attendance day during the normal school year. In such cases, compensation shall be at the teacher’s daily rate. Teachers shall be provided with an opportunity to become involved in planning such professional development days.
Professional Development Training. Bargaining unit member shall have an opportunity to access site staff development funds for purposes of job-related professional training/development.
Professional Development Training. Professional development training takes place throughout the school year including scheduled half days, typically one every marking period. These in-services may last up to an hour beyond normal school hours.
Professional Development Training. As part of the Basic Package, zSpace will provide one full day of professional development training at the intervals indicated on the Order Schedule for the number of employees indicated. Further training may be available as Professional Services for additional fees.
Professional Development Training. Employees will participate in one Professional Development Wednesday (PDW) per quarter. The date will be determined by the building administrator and communicated to staff in that building. A flexible work week for that time will be implemented to accommodate any change in work hours due to the PDW schedule.
Professional Development Training. On-going/annual training/HS orientation/New hire training, ongoing support for teacher qualifications including guidance for CDA process. (Programs will be responsible for providing their new employees with an orientation that is specific to the policies and procedures of their particular organization.)
Professional Development Training. The Board shall provide necessary training for efficiency on the job. Employees shall be compensated at their regularly hourly rate for training. All employees shall be guaranteed at least one (1) day, not to exceed two (2) days per school year. Date(s) for training shall be established by the Board.
Professional Development Training. Days 22:01 Employees who attend professional development “PD” days or other Employer sponsored training sessions (e.g. CPR) shall incur no registration fees for the program and shall be paid for the hours spent at the session. There shall be a minimum of one (1) paid PD day per school year in addition to orientation on the first school day of the year. Additional PD or training days shall be provided on a case by case basis as determined by the Employer. Requests for such PD or training days may be initiated by either the employee or Employer. Such requests shall not be unreasonably denied.
