Professional Development Courses. Each Professional Development course will grant Professional Development Points (PDPs). The COMMITTEE agrees to provide at least two (2) Professional Development courses within every five (5) year period: one (1) PD course in English Language Learning (ELL) and one (1) PD course in Special Education, for a total of fifteen (15) PDPs each. A minimum of eight (8) teachers must participate before a course will be provided. Professional Development Points (PDP’s) or in-service credit, at the teacher’s discretion, will be granted for NEASC work and NAEYC work.

Professional Development Courses. An employee wishing to take courses, which would enrich and improve the quality of care at the Centre, but would not include (Basic) ECE certification, shall apply in writing to the senior staff and the Employer. The employee shall receive a reply within fourteen (14) days. The Employer shall pay one hundred percent (100%) of the cost of such courses provided that: (a) the employee provide documentation that she/he has completed (and passed where applicable) said course(s); and (b) the employee shall continue working for the Kitsilano Area Childcare society for eight (8) months following completion of courses, unless this requirement is waived by the staff and the Employer due to unforeseen circumstances.
Professional Development Courses. 305 Employees may apply for reimbursement and release time for job-related Professional Development courses which are offered through the University Outreach (e.g., lifelong education, continuing education and evening college), MSU computing and technology training programs, Xxxxxxxxx College, Lansing Community College, and high school adult education programs or other MSU Human Resources approved educational/training programs. -306 Employees may apply for reimbursement (without release time) for career-related Professional Development courses which are offered through the University Outreach (e.g., lifelong education, continuing education and evening college), MSU computing and technology training programs, Xxxxxxxxx College, Lansing Community College, and high school adult education programs or other MSU Human Resources approved educational/training programs. In such cases, MSU Human Resources shall have the sole right to determine career-relatedness. -307 If Professional Development courses only are being taken during an academic year, reimbursement will not exceed eight hundred ($800.00) dollars. -308 If Professional Development courses are being taken during the same academic year as a course per paragraph 289 above, the total reimbursement and/or waiver will not exceed 70% of the MSU lifelong learning tuition rate per credit for up to fourteen (14) credit hours. -309 Employees must document their successful completion of Professional Development courses by submitting either (1) a certificate from the course signed by the instructor, or (2) a form provided by MSU Human Resources signed by the instructor.
Professional Development Courses. Faculty members may voluntarily teach professional development courses approved by the College but offered by a third party. Courses do not count toward load calculations. Faculty members are free to negotiate compensation with the appropriate third party or teach the course for no additional compensation. Teaching professional development courses may also count as part of community and/or professional services duties. VPAA approval is required.
Professional Development Courses. The Employer agrees to pay tuition fees for Continuing Education courses as follows: (a) The Employer will pay one hundred percent (100%) of pre-approved, Employer initiated course fees. The Employer will pay (100%) for pre-approved employee initiated courses that relate directly to the employee’s job functions or duties or other job functions or duties in a higher job classification in the bargaining unit. Employer initiated courses will include but not be limited to courses directly related to new computer programs, systems, or functions implemented by the Employer. (b) The Employer will pay one hundred percent (100%) of course fees to a maximum of One thousand ($1000) dollars per year for all pre-approved employee-initiated courses, provided that completion of the course is documented. Otherwise, repayment of the portion of the course fee paid by the employer is required no later than 30 days after the date of the course. In the event the employee is precluded from completing the course due to extenuating circumstances, the employee will not be required to reimburse the employer for the course fees paid by the employer. This applies for each employee, does not apply to employer directed programs, does not apply to required job training.
Professional Development Courses. This provision has been eliminated per Article 6.2 above.

Employees are eligible immediately upon hire for this benefit. -309 If Professional Development courses are being taken during the same academic year as a course per Paragraph 291 above, the total reimbursement and/or waiver will not exceed 70% of the MSU lifelong learning tuition rate per credit for up to fourteen (14) credit hours. -310 Employees must document their successful completion of Professional Development courses by submitting either (1) a certificate from the course signed by the instructor, or (2) a form provided by MSU Human Resources signed by the instructor.
Professional Development Courses. Employees will be reimbursed up to four hundred dollars ($400) per fiscal year for pre- approved professional development courses, seminars and conferences, travel, lodging, meals and associated non-electronic materials which are related to the employee’s career as a Deputy County Counsel (continuing education for current position). Lodging, meal and travel costs must be within the acceptable range per the Monterey County Travel Policy. The County Counsel shall establish internal procedures to administer this provision. It is understood that this amount is in addition to any funds spent for training courses at the department’s direction. Employees hired after the effective date of this agreement shall be eligible for this benefit on a pro rata basis. This reimbursement shall be paid to the Unit employee upon submission of a copy of the appropriate bill, invoice or other documentation. Bills shall be submitted on or before December 1 and the stipend shall be paid on or before December 31. Eligible employees who are scheduled to work fewer than 40 hours per pay period shall receive one-half the Professional Development Course reimbursement.
Professional Development Courses. Professional Development Courses are recognized as a means to maintain competency and provide for professional growth. Schedules and topics for these courses, when offered, will be established jointly by the administration and the Association.
