3.3.03 Educate and assist TVFC and ASN providers on a quarterly basis with Provider Choice, as necessary

Provider Education. 7.2.01 Educate and update providers on the most current ACIP recommendations for all age groups 7.2.02 Inform and highly recommend to the medical community and local providers within the LHD Grantee’s jurisdiction the most current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Disease (EPI-VAC) training (xxxxx://xxx.xxx.xxx/vaccines/ed/webinar- epv/index.html). Provider Education. The Contractor shall develop, implement, and conduct ongoing educational programs for Kentucky Medicaid pharmacy Provider community. These educational initiatives should include, but not be limited to:
A. Provider letters.
B. Provider bulletins.
C. PDL drug changes and distribution.
D. POS messaging.
E. Training sessions, webinars, quarterly newsletters, and other training activities as requested by the Department.
F. Claim resolution.
G. Website postings of the PDL. H. Billing instructions. I. PA procedures.
Provider Education. The Contractor shall develop and deliver ongoing training, technical assistance and support tools for GFS providers regarding GFS protocols and requirements. The training materials and documents shall be pre-approved by HCA. The training program shall meet the following minimum requirements: Training shall be accessible to GFS providers at alternate times and days of the week. A schedule of training shall be available on the Contractor’s website and updated as needed but at least annually. The Contractor shall make reasonable efforts to ensure that: Training is developed in collaboration with xxxx XXXx. Training is made available to treatment staff. Subcontractors provide opportunities for staff to attend trainings. Training for GFS providers address the following requirements: Screening and assessment tools and protocols, including the GAINS-SS. Claims and encounter submission. Other data submission and reporting required under the Contract. Evidence-Based Practices, as relevant to the service(s) provided. Transition protocols for Enrollees moving between funding sources or with frequent Medicaid eligibility status changes. Training includes the application of Evidence-Based, research-based, and Promising Practices, including culture-based approaches, related to the assessment and treatment of Behavioral Health conditions. Recovery and Resilience principles are incorporated in service provision as well as policies and procedures. Enrollees, family members and other caregivers are involved in the planning, development and delivery of trainings specific to delivery of GFS services. Cultural competency is incorporated into provider training specific to delivery of GFS services.
Provider Education. The CHC-MCO must demonstrate that its Provider Network is knowledgeable and experienced in treating and supporting Participants in the program. The CHC-MCO must submit an annual Provider education and training workplan to the Department that outlines its plans to educate and train Network Providers. The format for this workplan will be designated by the Department through its operations reporting requirements found on the intranet supporting CHC. This training plan must be developed in conjunction with the Department, and must cover all topic areas identified by the Department. The CHC-MCO must also include Participants, advocates and family members in designing and implementation of the training plan. The CHC-MCO must submit in its annual plan its process for measuring training outcomes including the tracking of training schedules and Provider attendance. At a minimum, the CHC-MCO must conduct the Provider training, as appropriate, in the following areas:
a. A description of the needs screening, comprehensive needs assessment and reassessment, and service planning system and protocols and a description of the Provider’s role in service planning and Service Coordination.
b. A description of Service Coordination and how the Provider will fit into the Person-Centered Planning Team approach.
c. A description of the population being served through CHC.
d. A description of the accessibility requirements with which Providers are required to comply.
e. Application of the definition of “Medically Necessary.”
f. Information around Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, including information on assisting with and managing the symptoms and care needs of people with dementia throughout the course of their disease.
g. EPSDT training for any Providers who serve Participants under age twenty-one (21).
h. Identification and appropriate referral for mental health, drug, and alcohol, and substance abuse services.
i. Sensitivity training on the diverse needs of persons with disabilities, such as persons who are deaf or hard of hearing how to obtain sign language interpreters and how to work effectively with sign language interpreters.
j. Training on CHC-MCO policies against discrimination to ensure competency in treating Participants without discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, language, Medical Assistance status, health status, disease or pre-ex...
