Rank Seniority. Rank seniority shall mean the length of continuous service in a rank commencing form the date of the employee's service in each rank and shall include the period of time occupying an equal or higher rank. Seniority shall not be broken by approved leaves of absence or suspensions. Employees who are employed on the same date shall be placed on a seniority roster in alphabetical order of surnames.
Rank Seniority. Rank seniority shall apply to layoff, recall, promotion, and transfer actions within rank and from a higher rank to a lower rank, according to the respective Articles dealing with such subjects.
Rank Seniority. An employee's seniority in rank shall be determined by the latest date of appointment to his rank. In the event of a layoff and subsequent displacement to a lower rank, a employee's rank seniority shall continue to accrue as though no displacement had occurred until such time as the employee's recall rights expire. Rank seniority is defined as time served within a rank.
Rank Seniority. An employee shall have no seniority as a Sergeant (Rank Seniority), for the initial probationary period, but upon completion of the probationary period, the employee’s Rank Seniority shall be retroactive to the date of promotion. Employees may exercise their Rank Seniority for the following limited purposes: selection of benefit time and shift selection.
Rank Seniority. Rank seniority is based on time served within a member’s current rank. If two or more members are promoted to the same rank, on the same day, then the senior employee shall be the employee with the greatest length of service in the prior rank.
Rank Seniority. Rank Seniority is defined as the accumulated length of service in a single rank classification.
Rank Seniority. Defined as the uninterrupted length of continuous full-time service with the Alliance Police Department (pursuant to Sections 3 and 4 below) from the original date of appointment to any rank.
