RECOGNITION OF EDUCATION. ‌ B3.01 In addition to the salary set out in Appendix 1, employees who so qualify shall be paid the education allowance set out in this article, subject to the following conditions: a) During the recruitment process for a new employee the Employer shall provide the employee a copy of the job description for the position, and shall advise the employee, in writing, of his/her eligibility to receive the allowance if they possess any education or training identified as being “desirable” on the job description. Upon the approval of the Employer that the submitted degree, etc. under sub-paragraph (d) below meets the “desirable” education or training, the employee will be entitled to receive the said allowance; b) Should the employee take extra training after being hired and thereby become eligible for said allowance, the employee will apply to the Employer to receive the allowance. c) An employee who possesses education or training which the employee believes is related to and utilized in the performance of his/her duties, other than that identified as being “desirable” on the job description for the employee’s position, may request that the Employer give consideration to including such education or training as being “desirable” for the position. In the event that the Employer, at its discretion, agrees that the education or training is “desirable” in regard to the performance of the employee’s duties, then the employee shall be entitled to be paid the education allowance set out in this article. d) The employee has provided the Employer with a copy of the appropriate degree, diploma, certificate or other acceptable evidence of successful completion of the education program. e) In respect of employees hired after November 19, 2001, the education allowance shall not be paid where the possession of the degree, diploma or certificate is a basic requirement of the employee’s position; and f) The allowance specified in this article shall not be paid retroactively for any period preceding the date of the employee’s application. Additions and deletions to the list may be necessary. RECOGNITION OF EDUCATION. 31.01 In addition to the salary rates of pay set out in Schedule "A", any Employee who has successfully completed her probationary period and so qualifies shall receive the following educational allowance: (a) An Employee who has successfully completed one (1) or more approved graduate courses, of three (3) months or longer duration, and where this course is utilized in the performance of the Employee's duties, shall receive an educational allowance of seventeen cents ($0.17) per hour. (b) An Employee who has received a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and where this qualification is utilized in the course of the performance of the Employee's duties, the Employee shall receive an educational allowance of twenty one cents ($0.21) per hour. (c) An Employee who has received a Masters Degree in Nursing and where this qualification is utilized in the course of the performance of the Employee's duties, the Employee shall receive an educational allowance of sixty four cents ($0.64) per hour. 31.02 Allowances for education are not cumulative and an Employee shall be paid only for the highest qualifications attained.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • Board of Education If the unit member and the Association are not satisfied with the decision at Stage 2, the Grievance Committee will file an appeal in writing with the Board of Education within fifteen (15) school days after receiving the decision at Stage 2. The official grievance record maintained by the Superintendent of Schools shall be available for the use of the Board of Education.

  • General Education University Program Requirements All MTA applicable courses require a grade “C” or higher

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Outreach and Education The agencies agree to coordinate, conduct joint outreach presentations, and prepare and distribute publications, when appropriate, for the regulated community of common concern. • The agencies agree to work with each other to provide a side-by-side comparison of laws with overlapping provisions and jurisdiction. • The agencies agree to provide a hyperlink on each agency’s website linking users directly to the outreach materials in areas of mutual jurisdiction and concern. • The agencies agree to jointly disseminate outreach materials to the regulated community, when appropriate. • All materials bearing the DOL or DOL/WHD name, logo, or seal must be approved in advance by DOL. • All materials bearing the OEAS name, logo, or seal must be approved in advance by OEAS.

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Said Paid Education Leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the Dependent Contractor’s skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, Unifor and sent by the Company to the following address: Unifor Education Leave Program c/o Unifor 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, XX X0X 0X0 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay for twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary, with said Leave of Absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Dependent Contractors on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.
