Regular and Full-Time Employees. As of the date of ratification of this agreement, classification of employees is defined herein as follows: a. A regular full-time employee is defined as an employee regularly schedule to work thirty- five (35) hours or more in a workweek. b. A regular part-time employee is defined as an employee regularly schedule to work less than thirty-five (35) hours in a workweek. From time to time, regular part-time employees may be required to work more than thirty-five (35) hours to meet service demands or in unusual situations. c. For the purpose of medical insurance benefits only, a part-time employee is eligible to enroll in the insurance benefits offered to full-time employees if the employee regularly works an average of thirty (30) or more hours per week or an average of one-hundred- thirty (130) hours per month. Part-time employees who regularly work an average of more than thirty (30) hours per week or an average of one-hundred-thirty (130) hours per month shall be offered health insurance coverage that meets the requirements of the ACA. The Company shall conduct an audit of hours worked for part-time employees in order to establish eligibility in compliance and in accordance with ACA guidelines. No other fringe benefits will be extended to employees who do not meet the definition of Full-Time Employee stated above. d. In the event a part-time employee works more than thirty-five (35) hours in a work week (including Sundays) for six (6) consecutive week periods, the most senior part- time employee in the department will be offered a full-time position, and said full-time position shall continue to be offered by seniority until the full-time position has been filled. e. If a regular part-time employee filling in for a full-time employee due to vacation, sick leave, paid time off, FMLA, xxxxxxx’x compensation, family leave, etc., this time shall not be counted toward the six (6) consecutive week work period referenced in (d) of this provision.

Regular and Full-Time Employees. 17 Each employee shall accumulate twelve (12) days sick leave per work year to the maximum 18 allowable according to State law. If an employee works less than the full year, their sick leave 19 will be pro-rated. The District shall project the number of annual days of sick leave at the 20 beginning of the school year according to the estimated calendar months the employee is to 22 leave at the beginning of the school year. Sick leave benefits shall be paid on the basis of base 23 hourly rate applicable to the employee's normal daily work shift; provided, however, that 24 should an employee's normal daily work shift increase or decrease subsequent to an 25 accumulation of days of sick leave, sick leave benefits will be paid in accordance with his 26 normal daily work shift at the time the sick leave is taken, and the accumulated benefits will be 27 expended on an hourly rather than a daily basis. Should an employee use sick leave beyond the 28 number of days earned or accumulated, and then leave the District's employ, the cost of said 29 days taken which were paid to the employee shall be deducted from the employee's final check. 30 Employees have the responsibility to notify their supervisor in advance for sick leave absence 31 reasons that are pre-planned (appointments or surgeries) or as soon as the employee is apprised 32 of a sudden illness.

A regular part-time employee is defined as an employee whose bid regularly schedules them to work less than thirty-five (35) hours in a workweek. From time to time, regular part-time employees may be required to work more than thirty-five (35) hours in a workweek to meet service demands or unusual situations. If a part- time employee works a full- time bid more than 30 days, the employee shall be considered full time. In the event the employee who originally held the full time position returns to work, the employee who bid the full time position will be reclassified back to part time status in accordance with their seniority. Part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work less than 35 hours per work week, and who do not have a regular bid assignment, or who work on an irregular basis throughout the year or work weekend only shifts shall be classified as Part-Time Casual. Except for the two (2) hour call-in/ scheduled show up pay, nothing in this Article or Agreement shall be construed as a daily or weekly guarantee of hours.
