School Closure Dismissal. A. When an Act of God, or an Employer directive, forces the closing of a school or other facility of the Employer, the bargaining unit members shall be excused from reporting to duty and shall be paid for the time lost up to 12 Act of God hours or the number of hours necessary to equate to two (2) full regularly scheduled work days for each bargaining unit member per year. A bargaining unit member, after using the preceding Act of God time lost, may claim two additional Act of God days or equivalent hours to be deducted from accumulated sick leave.

School Closure Dismissal. Act of God/Emergency: Employees shall be allowed to utilize personal leave days if they choose in the event school is closed as a result of an Act of God, or an emergency. The twenty-four (24) hour advance notice provision will be considered as being waived in the event they are informed not to report to work or in the event they report to work and are sent home prior to the conclusion of their work shift. Effective July 1, 2004, employees will be granted thirty (30) Act of God/Emergency hours per year not deducted from personal leave or sick leave. Employees will only be paid for days they were regularly scheduled to work. It being understood that if no such Act of God/Emergency days occur, compensation will not be given nor will equivalent time off work be granted. Act of God/Emergency days may not be substituted for an alternative day off. Bargaining unit members requested to report for work when a school or other facility is closed under this provision, for emergency reasons such as snow removal, heating system repair, special events, etc., during such condition shall be compensated at their regular rate of pay. Employees, who report to work as part of their necessary duties, and find that school has been cancelled shall be paid for one hour of reporting time.

If school is canceled after employees have reported for work or after students have reported, employees shall be dismissed thirty (30) minutes after students are dismissed. Upon notice of a supervisor an employee may be required to work on any day requested, excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Employees will be paid for time worked only, except that employees shall receive their regular daily wages for six (6) days each year that is declared to be an Act of God day by the Employer provided that the school district receives state aid for such day. When the school district delays the start of school because of Act of God conditions employees shall be paid their hourly rate of pay for the time delayed in order to maintain their regular daily wages.

School Closure Dismissal. For the first five (5) days where an act of God or an Employer directive forces the closing of a school or other facility of the Employer, the employees shall be excused from reporting to duty without loss of pay. Employees hired afer September 1, 2015 are not eligible. In the event that there are more than five (5) days were an act of God or an Employer directive forces the closing of a school or other factility of the Employer, the employees will have the option to use a sick leave day or a personal leave day. For Employees hired after September 1, 2015 they may use a sick leave day or a personal leave day on the first day of school closing.

  • School Closure The School shall make reasonable efforts to promptly notify the public, which may include notice to the Department of Education, of any circumstance requiring the closure of the School, including, but not limited to, a natural disaster, such as an earthquake, storm, tsunami, flood, or other weather-related event, other extraordinary emergency, or destruction of or damage to the School facility;

  • School Closures If school must be canceled, the school year shall be extended and vacations and in-service days and holidays not required by Statute may be utilized to meet State and District curriculum requirements. The district will consult with the President of the Association (s) before revising the calendar as required. Such time will be made up without additional pay. Any student school days waived by OSPI due to emergency school closure shall also be work days waived for certificated staff. There shall be no loss of pay in such an instance.

  • School Closing In the event that school is closed for any reason and the School District does not require employees to perform services, employees shall be compensated as follows:

  • School-Initiated Closure Should the School choose to voluntarily surrender this Contract before the end of the Contract term, it may do so in consultation with the Commission at the close of any school year and upon written notice to the Commission given at least ninety (90) days before the end of the school year.

  • DISCIPLINE, DISMISSAL AND RESIGNATION 23.01 Unsatisfactory conduct by an Employee which is considered by the Employer to be serious enough to be entered on the Employee’s record but not serious enough to warrant suspension or dismissal shall result in a written warning to the Employee and a copy to the Union within ten (10) days of the date the Employer first became aware of, or reasonably should have become aware of the occurrence of the act. A written warning that is grieved and determined to be unjustified shall be removed from the Employee’s record.

  • School Closings In the event of any school closing, employees will report for duty only if so requested by an appropriate supervisor. Employees requested to report for duty will be compensated by receiving an alternative day off agreed upon with their supervisor. Employees not requested to report would be paid for up to five (5) days of school closing or such days will be made up if all other employees are required to make up such days.

  • Probationary Teachers Nothing contained in this Article 23 shall be interpreted as limiting the Board’s right to non-renew the teaching contract of a probationary teacher who is on family/sick leave.
