Food Service Personnel. All food service personnel are to receive meals without payment.
Food Service Personnel. 1. Each employee shall work the number of hours and work schedule as designated on those days that students are in attendance and lunch must be served. This work schedule may be adjusted.
2. An employee who works three and one-half (3½) or more hours per day shall be entitled to a twenty (20) minute paid lunch during which he/she must remain on school premises.
3. An employee working eight (8) or more hours per day shall be entitled to two (2), fifteen (15) minute breaks. An employee working more than four (4) but less than eight (8) hours per day shall be entitled to one (1), fifteen (15) minute break. Breaks shall be taken within the employee’s assigned building.
4. Extra hours may be assigned.
5. Each employee shall be given the opportunity to work the breakfast program. At the annual meeting, prior to the beginning of each school year, an employee must indicate his/her willingness to work breakfast during that school year. The available work shall be rotated among the interested non-probationary employees on an equal basis, if possible. Normally, a breakfast rotation work period will be for ten (10) days in a row. Breakfast program hours shall be considered as extra hours rather than regularly assigned hours. Upon completion of the probationary period, an employee may join the rotation at the start of the next semester.
Food Service Personnel. 1. If an employee does not use any of his/her accumulated sick leave during any two (2) week period, he/she will be compensated an additional fifteen cents (15¢) an hour for that time period. The amount will be paid in the next payroll period after it is earned. Said amount is not considered as a part of the regular wage scale.
2. Each year there will be a two (2) hour orientation and preparation meeting held on the day prior to the scheduled first day of school for which employees will be paid.
3. Each employee will receive a uniform allowance of one hundred twenty dollars ($120) which shall be paid on or before September 15th of each year. The Board will annually issue guidelines regarding uniform appearance and deviations after consultation with Food Service Personnel.
Food Service Personnel. 1. Full-time food service employees shall be scheduled to work as a minimum, the number of days students are in attendance as specified in the school calendar and two (2) workdays before the first day of student attendance. Workdays for full-time food service employees shall not be abbreviated due to planned scheduled half-day instruction. A normal workday for a full-time food service employee will not be adjusted by reassigning the employee to work outside his/her normal work hours for the purpose of avoiding the payment of overtime. Part-time food service employees shall be scheduled to work as a minimum, the number of days equal to the days student lunches are to be served and two (2) workdays of their regularly scheduled hours which, at the District’s discretion, can be either or both worked before the beginning or after the student attendance days. The supervisor may schedule additional day(s) as needed after the last day of student lunches for all food service employees, for the purpose of kitchen/cafeteria cleanup. If a food service bargaining unit employee needs additional time to complete assignments during the school year, he/she shall first meet with his/her supervisor. Additional work time for part-time food service employees must be authorized by either the building administrator or the food service director. If such requested work time is not authorized, than food service employees may file a written appeal to the Director of Human Resources. All additional time worked shall be paid at the employee's regular rate of pay, including overtime if applicable.
2. Within the first month on the job, part-time food service employees new to a position (new hires or current employees transferring into a different assignment) shall receive the equivalent of two (2) days training based on the hours of the new position, at the position's regular rate of pay.
3. Part-time food service employees shall not be removed from their regular assignment for the purpose of providing breaks except in emergency situations. Break aide work shall only occur outside of regularly scheduled work hours and unit employees shall receive their regular rate of pay for time worked.

Food Service Personnel. Kitchens designated as summer centers shall be posted as early as possible after they are determined. Employees will be provided an opportunity to request summer work annually. Regular ten (10) month employees who request summer work but who are not placed shall form the pool for substitute workers. No temporary or substitute workers may be called for summer substitute work unless no regular ten (10) month employee accepts. Food Service Assistant summer school employees covered by this Agreement shall be hired by work site seniority, prior to other nine (9) or ten (10) month employees being considered. Summer jobs will be assigned to employees most able to perform the task as determined by the Supervisor. Food Service employees who drive satellite vehicles during summer school shall be paid five percent (5%) extra. In schools which serve as Summer School centers, one (1) day of set up time shall be provided prior to the beginning of the summer session and one (1) day of time shall be provided immediately following the summer session for closing the kitchen. The Food Service Committee shall have input regarding operation of the Food Service program during the summer. Food Service Manager and Assistant Manager Summer Employment
Food Service Personnel. Immediate supervisor is the Building Administrator. The appropriate operational director may be a second evaluator, if the District so desires, or if the Building Administrator requests it. The Food Service Director, or his/her designee, shall have the authority to shift food service staff temporarily at any time to meet District needs and shall be the immediate supervisor in the absence of a Building Administrator.
Food Service Personnel. 1. The work year shall be nine (9) months, with one hundred eighty (180) working days.
2. There shall be a fifteen (15) minute break in the morning and another fifteen (15) minute break in the afternoon for food service personnel who work seven (7) hours or more.
3. Part time employment within each category is allowed, payable at the employee’s hourly rate.
4. Assignment of extra duty help will be by seniority. When there are temporary absences or additional hours available in the cafeteria, employees with five (5) hours or less will be given the opportunity to work those additional hours. Employees who are interested in working such extra hours will sign up on a monthly basis. Extra hours will be offered on a rotational basis to short-hour employees on the list. Employees will not be eligible for additional hours which would cause them to exceed 29 total hours of work in any given week.
5. When a food service employee calls off at 6:00 p.m. or later, the day prior to an absence, the Supervisor will call the first eligible person on the overtime list, referenced in paragraph 4, above, on a rotating seniority basis. Once the vacancy is filled by an employee on the overtime list, a substitute may be called to fill the resulting vacancy created by assignment of the eligible employee to cover the temporary vacancy. At the end of each month, interested employees will be provided the opportunity to indicate interest in working those additional hours. The supervisor or designee shall use this list to cover those contracted hours.
6. Any newly hired employee or current 2 1/2 hour employee on the effective date of this contract will be given a one (1) week training period. The purpose of the training will be to familiarize the employee with all the routines of the cafeteria and safety procedures. The training shall take place up to a three (3) month period.
a. The training is to take place in the kitchen for which they have been hired and will be done by the employee currently assigned to the position which is being trained.
b. The training shall include at least one (1) day on each of the designated jobs in the cafeteria.
c. Any current employee who works four (4) hours or less and is given a new job assignment will also have this training for one (1) week.

Food Service Personnel. ● Establish a safe and supportive environment for students with food allergies or dietary conditions. ● Provide allergy free tables, washed thoroughly prior to contact. ● Provide a peanut-free and nut-free menu. If medication is required during school hours, parents must bring the medication to the Health Office or the front office in the middle school building with the prescription or instructions for use. The nurse or a staff member delegated by the nurse will dispense all prescription and nonprescription medication. For safety reasons, children are not to carry medication on their person, in lunch containers or in book bags with the exception of emergency medications for children with diagnosed life-threatening conditions. By Vermont law, all prescription medications are to be in the original pharmacy container, and be accompanied by written orders from the prescribing licensed provider and written permission from the parent/guardian.
Food Service Personnel. 1. a. The Board shall remit, on behalf of each eligible employee, single subscriber premium payments for insurance coverage as described below: MESSA Choices II PPO with XVA2 ($500/$1,000 In-Network and $1,000/$2,000 Out of Network annual deductible and the $10/$20 prescription co-pay) MESSA ABC Plan with XVA2 ($1300/$2600 In-Network and $5200 Out of Network annual deductible and the ABC Plan Rx plan) Employer’s contribution toward insurance premium is limited to PA 152 caps. This will be the employer’s maximum contribution to insurance. Employee will contribute the difference between the cap and the total premium cost.
Food Service Personnel. Short-hour Food Services personnel who work in excess of their regular schedule will be paid at their regular rate of pay for the time in excess of they’re regular schedule. However any short-hour employee who has completed his/her normal shift and left work and returned to work (to work a banquet or other activity) will be paid time and one-half for the time worked upon return to work.
