Sick Leave - Personal Business/Emergency Leave & Personal Leave. Every teacher shall be entitled to paid sick leave or personal business/emergency leave in the amount of sixteen (16) days per year. Upon completion of twenty (20) years of full-time service to the District, a full-time employee shall receive twenty-six (26) days of sick leave annually. Unused portions of the time allowed for such absence shall accumulate without limit. The Board will allow a teacher to reinstate earned and unused sick leave days earned while an employee of District 210 that were not allowed to accumulate, subject to approval by TRS and if the reinstatement does not result in the Board being subject to an additional payment or penalty by TRS. Benefits of the Sick Leave - Personal/Emergency Leave Provisions are to be credited at the beginning of the school year, subject to completion of the full year. Appropriate deduction will be made from the final pay of any teacher who leaves before the teaching year is completed and who has consumed more than the allowable leave. Use of Sick Leave - Personal Business/Emergency Leave is subject to the definitions and procedures listed in this provision. Sick Leave - Personal Business/Emergency Leave shall be charged in 1/7 day segments according to the amount of time absent. Use of days for bereavement or professional business shall not be deducted from the allotted sick days per year, as approved by the District Personnel Office.

  • Personal Leave of Absence The Administrator may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that he receives at least one (1) month's clear notice, in writing, unless impossible, and provided that such leave may be arranged without undue inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home. Employees when applying for such leave shall indicate the proposed date of departure and return. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.
