Student Teacher Supervision. Bargaining unit members asked to participate in a training experience for student teachers shall have the right to elect not to participate. Bargaining unit members who elect to participate shall receive two- thirds (2/3rds) of all compensation available from the participating college. Since compensation is paid directly by the college, compensation is not subject to the grievance procedure. Requests for receiving compensation should be directed to Human Resources.

Student Teacher Supervision. Supervision by a teacher of a student teacher shall be voluntary, and monies received from colleges for having student teachers will be used for professional library materials. Preference in selection of materials will be given to teachers, with principal approval, during the school year they are supervising, to the maximum amount received for their supervision.
Student Teacher Supervision. The Board agrees to cooperate with the training experience of potential teachers, commonly referred to as student teachers, and to actively pursue and participate in securing student teachers. A. The Superintendent shall be the Board delegated representative in establishing all arrangements for student teacher(s) from cooperating institutions. B. Cooperating teachers shall be full-time instructors employed by the Board. C. Cooperating teachers shall have a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience of which at least one (1) shall be in the school district, and shall possess regular certification from the State Department of Education or the Department of Developmental Disabilities in the field for which they are teaching and in which area they will be cooperating with a student teacher. D. Prior to acceptance of student teachers, the faculty of any given building will be notified of availability of student teachers and shall have the option to participate as a means of promoting and improving the educational profession. E. All members of the instructional staff eligible to act as cooperating teachers shall be encouraged to participate periodically in this program as a means of promoting and improving the educational profession. F. A cooperating teacher shall be assigned to no more than one (1) student teacher at any given period during the school year and no more than one (1) student teacher per school year or in any successive school year unless all other eligible teachers (eligibility being determined by the guidelines of the supplying university) in the building have had an opportunity and declined a student teacher.
Student Teacher Supervision. Currently colleges do not reimburse or pay a fee to the district for student teachers for ABE/ECFE. Therefore, there is no reimbursement for voluntary supervision of these teachers. Any future reimbursements will be passed through to supervising teachers.

Student Teacher Supervision. An amount equal to the reimbursement money received by the district for placement of student teachers will be paid directly to the supervisory teacher. Assignment of student teachers shall be by mutual agreement between the district and the individual supervisor teacher.
Student Teacher Supervision. For faculty engaged in field supervision of undergraduate student teachers, 0.50 contact hours per semester will be given for each student supervised at least four (4) times during the semester in the field experience of the School of Education. Faculty who teach the accompanying seminar, which such students must attend, will be compensated at a rate of 0.25 contact hours per student registered in seminar. Supervision of graduate students who are involved in such activities will accrue to a faculty member’s workload as follows: a) Faculty engaged in graduate student supervision for a three-credit student teaching assignment, including seminar, shall receive 0.50 credits contact hours per semester per student supervised. b) Faculty engaged in graduate student supervision for a one-credit student teaching assignment shall receive 0.20 contact hours per semester per student supervised. c) Faculty engaged in supervision of first-year student teachers in the New York City Department of Education Chancellor’s Fellows program shall receive 0.60 contact hours per semester per student supervised. d) Faculty engaged in supervision of second-year student teachers in the New York City Department of Education Chancellor’s Fellows program shall receive 0.25 contact hours per semester per student supervised. e) Faculty teaching courses in the Graduate Capstone Experience, including the weekly seminar and masters project (TAL 981A/B and 982A/B) shall be compensated at 3 contact hours per course taught. Faculty teaching Graduate Supervision Internship and Seminar, TAL 850 (or its equivalent), shall receive 0.50 contact hours per semester per student supervised.
Student Teacher Supervision. Candidates seeking credit for the supervision of a student or cadet teacher should obtain a certificate of credit from the college sponsoring the student. If such a form is not available, the candidate may offer a statement from his/her principal, with dates and hours the student teacher was under his/her supervision. One (1) credit is granted for each two hundred (200) hours of supervision. Certificates of credit for Student Teacher Supervision will be placed in the individual’s record file in the District Personnel Office; the second copy is for the registrant’s personal file. A maximum of two (2) credits may be applied to each thirty (30) credits of upgrading.
