Tools Allowance. The hourly rates for tradespersons specified in Appendix 2 include allowances for the requirement of Employees to purchase and maintain tools in an efficient working order in accordance with the list provided in Appendix 5.
Tools Allowance. The employer shall supply each employee with all the requisite tools and gloves for the performance of their duties, or by agreement between the employer and the individual employee, the employer may reimburse the employee for reasonable expenses where a receipt is provided.

Tools Allowance. Employees who are employed as an apprentice are normally entitled to a tools allowance of $600 after 6 months or $800 after 7 months depending upon the calling of the Employee. The Employer will provide apprentices with tools to the value of their allowance at the time the allowance is due. The Employer may provide additional tools to Employees in order to ensure operational efficiency. These tools may include specialist tools. The parties agree that tools provided over and above the agreed tools allowance entitlement remain the property of the employer. 33.04 The Company will continue its practice of insuring tools of trades employees as a result of tool boxes being broken into and or stolen provided the above paragraphs have been complied with.
33.05 The Company will continue their past practice of allowing employees to purchase tools required for their own trade through payroll deductions at the present scale. The Union shall receive a copy of the present payroll deduction scale.
33.06 The payroll deduction plan applies only to the purchase of tools for their trade.
33.07 The Company will make arrangements for the Snap On and/or Mac Tools mobile vendor to come to the plant on a bi-monthly basis between the hours of 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. In addition, employees will be permitted to purchase tools through the Company storeroom area. The Company maintains the right to change or remove tool suppliers with notice to the Union. Employees may purchase tools on their own from a vendor of their choice. A receipt will be required to qualify for the Employee Tool Purchase deduction schedule listed in 33.08.
