Tours of Duty/Scheduling. For the purpose of this section, these definitions of terms are used: Established Tour - A tour of duty approved with a specific beginning and ending time. An employee’s workweek will usually not extend over more than five days of the period Sunday through Saturday. Employees shall not be scheduled to work more than two of the established work shifts (days, evenings, and nights) within any fourteen consecutive day period unless the parties locally agree to a period longer than fourteen consecutive days. Employees shall not be required to report to work unless they have had at least 12 hours of off-duty time between work tours. Exceptions may be made by mutual agreement between the employee and their supervisor. Rotation - Scheduled off-tours shall be rotated fairly and equitably among affected employees, i.e., day/evening, day/night. Rotation of weekends and holidays shall be on a fair and equitable basis within a group and may be a subject for local bargaining. The weekends are defined as Saturday and Sunday and may be expanded to include Friday or Monday when scheduling permits. Records of weekend and off tours shall be kept by the Department to ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees. These records shall be readily available for review by the employees and local union. Seniority among employees with comparable qualifications will be the determining factor for access to a preferred tour. Seniority will be defined locally. Excessive use of overtime in any area will be evaluated by the local union and the Department to review staffing options. Every practicable effort will be made to assure that work schedules will not be for more than six consecutive days for eight hour tours, three consecutive days for twelve hour tours, and four consecutive days for ten hour tours with no less than two consecutive days off. Changes in the above procedures shall not be made without notice to the local union. The local union shall be provided schedules upon request. Alterations, procedures, and time frames for posting schedules shall be negotiated locally. If posted time sheets are altered, notification will be given to the employee in a timely manner. When a change of uniform is required, the Department will provide up to ten minutes at the beginning and ending of a tour for the employees to change clothes.   • PTO Scheduling a. By November 15 of each year, the Company will post on appropriate bulletin boards a schedule showing the PTO days, which are available to each employee for the upcoming year.

  • Holiday Scheduling Work assignments for holidays shall be prepared in advance of the holiday and when work is available, employees shall be given an opportunity to request to either work or be off. Such requests shall be granted to the extent possible in keeping with the operating needs of the work unit.   • Self Scheduling The Home and the Union may agree to implement a self-scheduling process. Self-scheduling is the mechanism by which employees in a Home create their own work schedules. The purpose of self scheduling is to improve job satisfaction and quality of work life for the participating employees. Self scheduling requires a collaboration of employees and management to ensure proper coverage of the Home and to meet the provisions of the Collective Agreement. It is agreed that self scheduling will be negotiated locally by the Home and the Union and will include a trial period. Each Home must have the majority agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to agree on a trial period of up to six months. Once the trial period is complete, each Home must have a minimum of 66⅔% agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to continue with the new schedule on a permanent basis.

  • Overtime Scheduling (A) It is the intent of the City, consistent with efficient and effective operation of the Division of Police, to distribute in an equitable manner, all pre-scheduled overtime among all members. Recognition will be given to the qualifications of the members and the requirements placed on the City by any third party funding sources. Any complaints by members that pre-scheduled overtime is not being equitably distributed among all qualified members as described above may be brought by the Lodge directly to the Chief's attention at Step 3 of the Grievance Procedure and shall also be a proper subject for discussion in a Labor Relations Committee meeting. Inability to work a prescheduled overtime assignment due to illness or death in the family or injury will not require the member to charge such absence against sick leave or injury leave.

  • Scheduling Vacations Vacations are to be scheduled in advance and taken at such reasonable times as approved by the employee's department with particular regard to the needs of the Employer, seniority of employee, and, insofar as practicable, with regard to the wishes of the employee. No vacation shall be assigned by the Employer or deducted from the employee's account as disciplinary action.
