TRAVEL AND BOARD ALLOWANCE. Inner Free Zone 1: (as defined by the concentric circle for this area) When employees are required to work in the inner free zone circle such as Kanata, Stittsville, Manotick, Carlsbad Springs, Orleans, Carleton Place, Rockland, will not be remunerated for travel or board. Zone 2: (as defined by the concentric circle for this area) When employees are required to work beyond zone 1 and up to and including Arnprior, Kemptville, Chesterville, Casselman, employees shall be remuner- ated at a flat rate of seventeen dollars and ninety-three cents ($17.93) effective May 1, 2015, per day for each day worked. Zone 3: (as defined by the concentric circle for this area) When employees are required to work beyond zone 2 up to and including Renfrew, Perth, Prescott, Morrisburg, Xxxxxxxx, Xxxxxx, employees shall be remu- nerated at fifty dollars and ninety-five cents ($50.95) effective May 1, 2016, fifty-one dollars and ninety-sev- en cents ($51.97) effective May 1, 2017, fifty-three dol- lars and one cent ($53.01) effective May 1, 2018, per day room and board for each day reported for work and shall further be remunerated for travel and time for the first trip up and the last trip back. (All calculations of travel and time shall be calculated from the outer boundaries of zone 1 by the most direct automobile route from this zone to the project.) Work Beyond Zone 3: When employees are required to work beyond zone 3, employees shall be remunerated at eighty- four dollars and fifty-one cents ($84.51) effective May 1, 2016, eighty-six dollars and twenty cents ($86.20) effective May 1, 2017, and eighty-seven dollars and ninety-two cents ($87.92) effective May 1, 2018, room and board for each day reported for work and shall further be remunerated for time and travel for the first trip up and the last trip back. (All calculations of travel and time shall be calculated from the outer boundaries of zone 1 by the most direct automobile route from this zone to the project.) Travel allowance shall be calculated and paid at fifty-five cents ($0.55) per km effective May 1, 2015. Travel time within Local Union 47’s jurisdiction shall be paid for at the rate of straight time even if the total hours worked that week exceed the normal working hours per week as per Appendix “C”. PAYMENT OF EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE WELFARE AND BENEFIT FUNDS: The Benefits outlined in Articles 42 and 43 shall be in addition to the following:

If an employee is required to travel anywhere in or from Essex County outside the twenty-four (24) km free zone he shall be paid fifty-two cents ($0.52) per km effective May 1, 2015 from the limits of the free zone to the jobsite and return.

TRAVEL AND BOARD ALLOWANCE. 24.01 For the purpose of this Article the definition of "permanent residence" for a resident of Nova Scotia and/or Newfoundland and Labrador shall be the same as the definition of Provincial Residence in this Agreement and for those outside of Nova Scotia and/or Newfoundland and Labrador, as follows: "An employee's permanent residence is the place where he/she maintains a self-contained domestic establishment where he/she ordinarily resides such as a dwelling, house or similar place of residence where a person generally eats and sleeps. Factors and/or current documents to be examined when determining who is a resident may include property tax assessments, lease agreements, driver’s licenses, vehicle registration, income tax returns, voter’s list registration or proof of Provincial Healthcare coverage.”

TRAVEL AND BOARD ALLOWANCE a) When Employees are required to work on projects located beyond a zone bounded by South March, South Gloucester, Springs and Orleans and when employees are required to travel to such projects from zone boundary the appointed car operator shall be paid an allowance of thirty cents per km effective May and thirty-five cents per km effective May both ways, by the most direct automobile route from the zone to the project. Employees who are requested by the Company to relocate temporarily shall have transportation paid once each way. Actual time spent travelling shall be paid at the regular rate up to a maximum of eight hours in any one day. Board and lodging to be paid to the Employee at the rate of forty-five dollars per calendar day. Effective May board allowance will be dollars per calendar day paid to the employee. Daily travelling outside the free-zone boundary to and from the job site will be paid at the regular hourly rate but not to exceed the daily board allowance of forty-five dollars per calendar day. During the months of October, November, December, January, February, March, April, the employer will have the option of paying all travel and mileage each day out- side the free zone boundary or may pay the established room and board allowance. When required to perform work outside the free zone boundary and if the company supplies transportation, roofers covered by this agreement shall be transported from the company’s shop to the job site and back to the shop. All company supplied transportation shall be sheltered, heated in winter and insured against all risks. Men working over four hundred and eighty km from free zone boundary will have their fare and board paid to and from the project at least once every forty-two calendar days, and will be paid single time for travel on their first trip to the site and their final trip from the site. To qualify for room and board allowance, for weekend and legal holidays, the Employee must work a full shift on the normal working day preceding the weekend or holiday and a full shift on the normal working day immedi- ately following the weekend or holiday unless permission has been granted for his absence by his xxxxxxx. When a job site is located outside of the geographic area those Roofing Employees on such job site, whose permanent residence is within a four km radius of the job site, shall not be entitled to the room and board or travel provisions of this agreement.

Transportation facilities when provided by the Em- ployer, are to be in vehicles primarily built or modified for transportation of passengers and the Employee driver to be paid at regular rate of pay. When an Employer transfers any Employee from one job to another and the transfer is made during working hours, the transportation charges and the time during transit (at the prevailing wage rate and travel allowance) shall be paid by the Employer. Notwith- standing when an Employee is transferred from one job to another, the Employer shall at all times be re- sponsible for and arrange for the transportation of the Employee’s tools from one job to another at the Em- ployer’s expense.
