Tuition Scholarship Program. (a) The Employer will establish and maintain a University Tuition Scholarship Program to which eligible Members and other eligible employees, their spouses (including common law and/or same sex spouses) and their eligible dependents may apply. For the purpose of this Clause eligible Member shall be defined as a full-time or part-time (at least 50% of the normal workload) Member with a probationary, tenured, or continuing or term appointment of more than two (2) consecutive years. Eligible dependents shall be all natural children, and legally adopted children. Eligible dependents will also include, stepchildren (and/or the children of common law and/or same sex spouses, provided such children are living with the Member.) All eligible dependents must be unmarried and under the age of 21 and dependent on the Member for support; or unmarried and under the age of twenty-five (25) and a full-time student of The University of Winnipeg. The age restrictions do not apply to a physically or mentally incapacitated child. The applicants must meet the eligibility requirements as of the first day of classes for the term in which the Applicant is applying for the Tuition Scholarship Program. (b) The Tuition Scholarship Program will be administered by the Employer and will provide scholarships for credit courses leading to the applicant's first undergraduate degree. For the purpose of this clause the University of Winnipeg B. Education degree shall be considered as a first undergraduate degree. Scholarships will apply only to credit courses completed at The University of Winnipeg or where The University of Winnipeg Bachelor of Education Program requires students to complete courses offered by another institution. The scholarships shall be equal to the tuition fees paid for courses which the applicant has completed with the grade of C or better within the twelve (12) month period ending June 30th immediately preceding the application. Tuition fees shall not include special charges associated with certain courses, such as supplementary course service fees, travel costs, student association fees, caution fees or any other charges or expenses added to the normal standard fees. The maximum value of scholarship support available to an applicant will be the minimum number of full course equivalents required to complete one undergraduate degree program at the University of Winnipeg as defined by Senate regulations. Tuition Scholarship Program. 10.16.1 Tuition scholarships will be awarded to employees, spouses, and dependent children (son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, and a legally adopted child), on a space available basis. 10.16.2 Employees, spouses, and dependent children as identified in section 10.16.1 and in accordance with University policy, shall be allowed to take an unlimited number of credit hours per semester. 10.16.3 Employees may enroll in courses up to a maximum of four (4) credit hours during regular working hours. Arrangements for such time off must be made with the immediate supervisor. All time so devoted will be made up within the same biweekly pay period through arrangements with the immediate supervisor and/or department head. If the Employer assigns a bargaining unit member to take a class offered only during the employee’s scheduled work time, the employee shall not be required to make up the time. 10.16.4 In the event of death of an employee who had at least fifteen (15) years of service at NMU, the surviving spouse, as long as he/she does not remarry, and the dependent children as identified in section 10.16.1 and in accordance with University policy, when they become eligible for enrollment at NMU, may participate in the Program until they complete their course of study. 10.16.5 In the event of an employee’s death, the surviving spouse, as long as he/she does not remarry, and dependent children, as identified in section 10.16.1 and in accordance with University policy, who are participating in the Tuition Scholarship Program as specified in Sections 10.16.1 and 10.16.2 at the time of the employee’s death, may continue in the Program until completion. 10.16.6 Those who participate in this Program are not eligible to receive additional University-funded scholarships or grants. 10.16.7 No employee on a leave of absence (except those receiving long term disability benefits) or their spouse or dependent children as identified in section 10.16.1 and in accordance with University policy shall receive such a scholarship unless it is approved by the Head of Human Resources or designee prior to the commencement of such leave. 10.16.8 Northern Michigan University will abide by state and federal laws regarding the taxability of tuition benefits.

  • Pueblo scholarship This articulation transfer agreement replaces all previous agreements between ACC and CSU-Pueblo in Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. This agreement will be reviewed annually and revised (if necessary) as mutually agreed.

  • Scholarship Faculty Members are entitled and expected to engage in scholarship (as defined in Article 1.1(n)), to show scholarly integrity therein, and to disseminate the results of their scholarship or exhibit the results of their creative work. It is the responsibility of the Employer to provide reasonable resources for the conduct of scholarly activity and its dissemination.

  • Scholarships Fellowships.

  • Employee Assistance Program Neither the fact of an employee's participation in an employee assistance program, nor information generated by participation in the program, shall be used as a reason for discipline under this Article, except for information relating to an employee's failure to participate in an employee assistance program consistent with the terms to which the employee and the University have agreed.

  • Apprenticeship Program The parties agree to meet to discuss the development of mutually agreeable apprenticeship programs. The specific provisions of the apprenticeship programs shall be subject to agreement between the City, the Civil Service Commission (where appropriate), and the Union. Each apprenticeship program, however, shall contain at least the following terms:

  • Employee Assistance Programs Consistent with the University's Employee Assistance Program, employees participating in an employee assistance program who receive a notice of layoff may continue to participate in that program for a period of ninety (90) days following the layoff.

  • Dependent Care Assistance Program The County offers the option of enrolling in a Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) designed to qualify for tax savings under Section 129 of the Internal Revenue Code, but such savings are not guaranteed. The program allows employees to set aside up to five thousand dollars ($5,000) of annual salary (before taxes) per calendar year to pay for eligible dependent care (child and elder care) expenses. Any unused balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered by the employee.

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task). Nothing in this Article or provision shall constitute a waiver of either party’s bargaining obligations or defenses. The Employer still has an obligation to notify and bargain changes in terms and conditions of employment with the exclusive representative.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Section 1. The Employer agrees to provide to the Union the statistical and program evaluation information provided to management concerning Employee Assistance Program(s). Section 2. No information gathered by an Employee Assistance Program may be used to discipline an employee. Section 3. Employees shall be entitled to use accrued sick leave for participation in an Employee Assistance Program. Section 4. Each university will offer training to local Union Stewards on the Employee Assistance Program available in their university, on university time, where an Employee Assistance Program is available.
