Tuition Benefits. The University provides for the children of all eligible workers payment of tuition and recurring fees for the first 12 quarters or eight semesters of undergraduate study at any accredited college or University, up to a maximum of one-half of Stanford’s tuition for the same period of time.
A. Workers are eligible only if they were employed by the University as of September 1, 1998, and after they have completed five consecutive years of full time employment. Eligibility does not terminate when the worker retires, dies or is placed on disability leave.
B. For workers hired after September 1, 1998, the tuition benefit for children will be the same benefit, provided on the same basis, as the benefit that the University provides to non-bargaining unit, non-exempt staff members.
Tuition Benefits. 37.1 Members and their children, including stepchildren, as well as current spouse, may claim the applicable tuition benefit set out below.
37.2 Eligible claimants enrolling in University of Waterloo degree-credit programs or courses may claim reimbursement for the tuition fees, including co-operative and / or internship fees, applicable to a combined total of up to the normal number of terms of full-time study required for each University of Waterloo degree pursued. The credit shall be at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the cost of such fees applicable to a regular undergraduate math degree at the University of Waterloo. The claim is only available once for any course and for a maximum number of seventy (70) courses over the claimant’s lifetime.
37.3 Members, including those on layoff due to financial exigency, or in receipt of disability benefits, or retired and in receipt of a pension from the Employer, may claim reimbursement on the same terms as
37.2 but at the rate of one hundred per cent (100%). Where a Member’s employment terminates after the date of registration has passed, and classes have commenced, the Employer shall provide the tuition benefit for that academic term only.
37.4 Eligible claimants of deceased and / or retired Members in receipt of a pension from the Employer shall be eligible for the tuition benefit 37.2.
37.5 Members may claim the benefit for degree-credit courses taken at institutions other than the University of Waterloo only if the Vice-President / Academic Xxxx determines that the courses are directly related to their current work assignment or planned future assignment, provided similar courses are not offered at the University of Waterloo.
37.6 Claims shall be initiated by completing and submitting the SJU Tuition Benefit Form. In the event a Member or the Member’s spouse are eligible to claim the same or substantially similar benefit from the University of Waterloo they shall do in lieu of claiming the benefit under this Article.
Tuition Benefits. The College will remit for a bargaining unit member tuition for one (1) undergraduate course for each semester in which the adjunct faculty member earns Seniority Credit. The adjunct faculty member may have two semesters beyond the semester in which the course was earned to use the course. The course is not transferrable.

Tuition Benefits. 36.4.1 Academic Service Officers are entitled to take two Concordia courses, regardless of program area, free per academic year (one 6‐credit or two 3‐credit courses if degree program courses). Faculty who exceed the annual maximum are entitled to a 50% education fee waiver for any additional courses.
36.4.2 Tuition benefits apply to the education fee and the following 'required' fees listed in the Academic Calendar: athletic fee, student association fee, building development fee, technology fee and student accident insurance fee. The processing fee is payable and assessed upon registration. Fees listed as 'other' in the Academic Calendar (convocation, labs, practicums, etc.), are payable and are assessed upon registration.
36.4.3 Dependents under the age of twenty‐seven (27) and spouses of full‐time Academic Service Officers who enroll in courses at Concordia are entitled to receive a 50% education fee waiver. The remaining required and other fees are assessed upon registration.
36.4.4 An Academic Service Officer requesting a tuition benefit must submit a Tuition Benefit Application to the Director of Human Resources for approval prior to registering in a course. Tuition benefits are considered taxable benefits according to Canada Customs Revenue Agency.
Tuition Benefits. 9.3.1 Tuition benefits shall be paid only for courses and other professional training programs that qualify for “recognized horizontal movement credits” as prescribed in Article VI, regardless of whether the teacher is currently eligible to apply the credits to horizontal movement (eg. due to being capped at M+45).
9.3.2 For a full-time (1.0 FTE) teacher, the District shall pay course tuition and mandatory enrollment fees or, in the case of professional training programs not charging “tuition”, the equivalent of tuition (eg. “registration fees”), for up to six (6) recognized credits per fiscal year. The per credit cost shall not exceed that of an in-state graduate credit at UVM plus $15 in mandatory fees, and the cumulative annual cost shall not exceed that of six (6) in-state UVM graduate credits plus $90 in mandatory fees, subject to the overall limitation of 9.2 above. However, in the case of St. Michael’s College credits, the allowable per-credit cost shall be the cost of an SMC in-state graduate credit plus $15 in fees, up to 110% of the allowable cost of a comparable UVM credit, and the cumulative annual cost cap shall be adjusted accordingly. On-line materials and access fees will be covered for on-line courses costing less than the UVM rate, up to the UVM rate.
9.3.3 A teacher enrolled in an approved graduate degree program shall be eligible for an additional three (3) credits of tuition benefits per fiscal year for courses the teacher is able to document as counting toward the graduate degree, subject to the cost caps established in 9.3.2.
9.3.4 The teacher must obtain advance approval from the principal and superintendent that the course or training program will be eligible for: one, “recognized credit”, and the number of such credits; and two, tuition benefits, and the amount of such benefits.
9.3.5 Eligibility for tuition benefits shall be contingent on a teacher completing a course successfully, as demonstrated by a grade of “B” or the equivalent where applicable, as determined by the Superintendent. If tuition costs are paid in advance by the District for a course that a teacher fails to complete successfully, then the teacher shall reimburse the District for those costs as follows, unless alternative arrangements are approved by the Superintendent: one, if the teacher is actively employed by the District, through payroll deductions spread evenly over the pay periods remaining in the current fiscal year; or two, if the teacher is no longer ac...
