Unexcused Tardies. After receiving a 2nd unexcused tardy in a class, students will be given consequences ranging from closed lunch to short-term suspension from school. After each unexcused tardy, students are to sign the white slip and take home for parent signature. All slips must be returned to school within 2 days. BE PREPARED Being prepared leads to successful experiences with the school learning environment. Skills and habits you develop at this time will help you to be prepared for future success in high school and the world of work. MATERIALS Students are required to come to class each day with the necessary supplies to be ready to learn. Supply lists can be found on the STMS website. Elective and PE classes have additional materials/fees that can be paid to the school bookkeeper. HOMEWORK AND ASSIGNMENTS Homework assignments are extremely important, and are essential practice for developing understanding and ability. On average, students should expect about 10 min per grade level each day, though it will fluctuate throughout the year. Homework and assignments are expected to be completed to the best of each student’s ability and on time. Successful students have regular routines of practice and preparation every day and are good habits to develop for future independence. Students who struggle with work completion will be directed to additional time and support to ensure that the proper practice is completed. In the event of excused absences, the student will have one day for each day missed to complete and submit the work. To assist students with gathering homework practice after an absence, each teacher will maintain a SWIFT website that can be accessed through the building’s webpage. Some SWIFT sites will list the homework that was given each day in class. There are two ways to get accompanying handouts or worksheets, by electronic form on the teacher’s website or as a hardcopy in the classroom. If the student does not have access to a computer, please call (000)000-0000 to request homework for two or more days of absences.   • Unexcused Absences Employees who are absent without approved leave (with the exception of emergencies) may be subject to discipline, up to and including discharge from employment.

  • Critical Illness Three (3) days per year, with pay, shall be granted in the case of a critical illness or accident to a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in Section 9.4.2. A statement by the physician verifying the need for the employee to be present with the immediate family member shall be attached to the absence form.

  • Critical Illness Leave (i) An Employee who has completed at least ninety (90) days of employment, and is a family member of a critically ill child or a critically ill qualified adult relative, is entitled to leave of absence without pay or benefits: • for a period of up to thirty-six (36) weeks to care for their critically ill child; or, • for a period of up to sixteen (16) weeks to care for a critically ill qualified adult relative.

  • Missed Meal Breaks (a) (applicable to full-time employees only) If an employee is authorized to work, during the lunch break, due to the requirements of patient care, he will be paid time and one-half (1½) his regular straight time hourly rate for all time worked in excess of his normal daily hours.

  • De-commissioning due to Emergency 17.6.1 If, in the reasonable opinion of the Concessionaire, there exists an Emergency which warrants de-commissioning and closure of the whole or any part of the Bus Terminal, the Concessionaire shall be entitled to de- commission and close the whole or any part of the Bus Terminal to Users and passengers for so long as such Emergency and the consequences thereof warrant; provided that such de-commissioning and particulars thereof shall be notified by the Concessionaire to the Authority without any delay, and the Concessionaire shall diligently carry out and abide by any reasonable directions that the Authority may give for dealing with such Emergency.

  • Absenteeism No employee may absent himself from his work during the hours in which the establishment is open without the express permission of his employer except on account of illness and/or injuries or for causes beyond the control of such employee. An employee shall, within 24 hours of his failure to report for work, cause his employer to be notified thereof in the most expeditious manner available.

  • Lunch Breaks The lunch break will consist of a one-half hour (or one hour where scheduled) unpaid break taken mid-way during regular work day. In the event that an employee is required to work during his regular lunch period he shall be allowed a one-half hour lunch period between the hours of ll:30 a.m. and l:00 p.m., otherwise he shall be paid double time for working through said lunch period.

  • Excused Absences Absences will be excused only under the following circumstances.

  • Compensation for default by the Concessionaire Subject to the provisions of Clause 35.6, in the event of the Concessionaire being in material default or breach of this Agreement, it shall pay to the Authority by way of compensation, all direct costs suffered or incurred by the Authority as a consequence of such material default or breach, within 30 (thirty) days of receipt of the demand supported by necessary particulars thereof; provided that no compensation shall be payable under this Clause 35.1 for any material breach or default in respect of which Damages are expressly specified and payable under this Agreement.

  • Lunch Break Each Teacher shall receive each day an uninterrupted and continuous period of not less than forty (40) minutes for lunch, free from supervisory, teaching or other assigned duties (reference: Regulation 298.s. 3, Daily Sessions).
