UNIFORMS AND MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE. A. Uniforms The Department will have a written procedure that will specify all classifications required to wear District-purchased uniforms and state the uniform standards for each classification. All BPOA employees shall be provided with uniforms, appropriate to their classification, upon hire and as items need to be replaced, in accordance with the Department’s written procedure. The value of all uniforms provided to employees (such as protective vests, pistols, bullets and safety shoes), is anticipated to be less than $2100 per employee in a year with an anticipated increase of 5% (compounding) per year of this Labor Agreement. The following BPOA employees who are provided uniforms (Dispatchers, Police Administrative Specialists, and Community Service Officers) shall receive an annual uniform allowance of one thousand fifty dollars ($1,050), which will include the one hundred and twenty-five dollar ($125) shoe allowance to be paid quarterly for cleaning and upkeep, excluding tailoring and repairs. No allowance will be paid while any employee is in an unpaid status.

Management will give to each General Services Police Officer, an annual payment of one thousand forty dollars ($1,040). This payment will be made by separate check distributed between December 1st and December 31st each year.

In no event shall an employee receive more than $135.00 under the provisions of this Article. UNIFORMS AND MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE. Section 1. All employees shall be issued uniforms and accessories in accordance with Town policy at no cost to the employee that the Town believes necessary to perform records and information specialist and/or police duties. All worn or damaged uniforms through normal use shall be replaced at the Town’s expense when approved by the Chief unless replacement is due to negligence, carelessness, or deliberate acts of the employee, in which case the employee shall bear the cost.

UNIFORMS AND MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE. Section 1 The Town shall furnish: 6 uniform shirts (4 short sleeve; 2 long sleeve) ; 2 uniform polo shirts; 4 uniform pants/trousers; and 1 pair of boots to all bargaining unit members who are required to wear such uniforms in the performance of their duties. The Town shall provide all bargaining unit members with a uniform allowance of a maximum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per year for the specific purpose of replacing unserviceable uniform items and footwear.
